Steel only just delivered. Zero/matte finish. Title on the slip isn't yellow, the steelbook image is also much more cropped on the front (which looks better as a steel, but not with the slip), and there are credits on the rear. The slip hinders the steel imo.

Yeah, I agree. I think this crop works best on the steel as it is though. The zoomed out version was too small for the surface area, although it did play better with the box on the slip.

Cancelled mine a while back but the few (relatively minor, I suppose) changes they’ve made from the advertised images only weaken this for me. The yellow title at least stood out and made it look a little bit less like a BFI Classics book cover.

In contrast to a lot of others who seem to be creaming themselves over it, I find the artwork rather….I nearly said crap, but it’s not crap, it’s just kind of….dull and uninspired.

Hoping Manta hurry up and get round to releasing it soon.

Only this turned up today. It’s okay on its own, nothing special. I just like the art. Do wish it had some spot glossing tho. Also annoyed the title has changed from yellow. The PET slip is very loose too fyi

Opened mine too. The Poltergeist one is degrees better than The Shining finish, mainly due to a deeper colour scheme. They're both still streaky matte though. I mean, come on, why are we still getting GREAT artwork in lacklustre finishes in 2025. It's bizarre.
Other gripes - do they really need to print the complete J card information across the reverse? Why not limit it a bit or something different with less info? Then provide a paper one. I don't know. It just feels excessive and easy to change whilst still appeasing whatever stupid law they have to abide by.
Also the plastic join shows the glue on one side of PET slip really prominently.

These Film Vault releases really could be and should be better. It's dumb. Change a few things and it'll be so much more visually appealing.
