I'm leaving brother bear until next month. No hurry, it's not going to sell out...... I think someone even mentioned Snow white is still available

Exactly. I think I'll order Sword in the Stone and Emperor's New Groove now, but Brother Bear later on. Not enough funds now. I wish zavvi had again two disney steelbooks for the price of one discount.

That may be the case and both comments may be true but it might not be a bad idea to remember that only 8 of the Disney Numbered Collection steelbooks are still available to order from Zavvi out of a total of about 32 I believe.

It should also be remembered that the 'Snow White' steelbook had a print run of 4,000 against 3,000 for these three although I appreciate your point about how this true classic is still around almost six months after release and that these three not so classic classics ought not to sell out before release. . .

There is also the fact that several of these with reported print runs of 10,000 (or more?) are no longer available although each of these were available at some point for about half their pre-order price.

It should also be remembered that there is more of a demand for Disney steelbooks than for many others as Disney seems to hold a special place in peoples' hearts no matter their ages.

On June 1 I got an email from Zavvi saying that there were less than 200 copies left of Sword/Stone, Emperor's and Brother Bear. Are they pulling our leg? That can't true, can it?

Er no,lets be blunt, they lie quite a bit about what stock they have and as for this Title,i'll be shocked if its not still available at Christmas, same for the other two

There was only 2 Disney Steelbooks that was 10,000
Jungle Book and The Little Mermaid
Both of these had originally a print run of 5,000 each and these actually did end up as sold out
As a result of these selling out very quickly they went with another print run for both which increased to 10,000 each
This was a mistake as they did not sell as expected the extra print runs and resulted in selling of cheap

They then decided with future releases after Jungle Book/Little Mermaid to go with print runs of 4,000 and then decided later to go with 3,000 for the new 2015 batch of Disney/Pixar Releases

I expect Sword in the Stone and Emperors New Groove to end up as sold out but might take a few months

Paul You know you're stuff but I think this calls into question how popular these titles are and if they match up to the ones still available on zavvis shelves.

I think we all thought Snow White would be an instant sell out,it's still available. The aristocats and dareisay the rescuers are instantly more remembered than sword in the stone and yet they're still available despite numerous price drops. I even believe tarzan and fox and the hound are more popular that the emperors groove, again still available.

Even Pinocchio had to drop to £9.99 and it's by common consent the most popular title in the catalogue.
Personally I don't see how they're going to shift these new titles within a few months,as for brother bear that will need to drop a long way below it's starting price.

I actually hope they will sell out so that we can see more titles but I fear zavvis latest choices may convince them to rethink the print run again.

So it seems that the choice open to those of us who insist on owning all these Zavvi/Disney steelbooks is to buy them now at the pre-order price or wait a few months and possibly buy them for GBP 9-99 - 14.99.
I expect that most of us who buy these steelbooks already have the films on Blu-ray and are double-dipping because we like the steelbooks or because we would wish to have as complete a collection as possible/available in steelbook packaging.
I wonder if the remaining numbered titles to be released in steelbooks will have a better reception - those such as 'Lilo and Stitch', 'Oliver and Company', 'Fantasia 2000', 'Chicken Little', 'The Wild', 'Meet the Robinsons', 'Princess and the Frog' and 'Bolt' though of course this will depend on the individual steelbook artwork.
Regarding these three - I'd say that the artwork is pretty good on one, better than pretty good on another and excellent on the last.

I think that's the point isn't it really, collectors will buy them to complete the set and so I guess the price isn't as important,i wont complete the set because I don't want fantasia already having it on a blu ray box set,i have kimchi frozen and don't need to have zavvis and I wouldn't buy planes because its not very good.I bought Pocahontas and Hunchback of Notre dame at a reduced price and i'd do the same with Sword in the Stone,my children aren't that keen on the other two and so I wont be buying them no matter how good the artwork is.
I'm actually surprised Princess and the Frog hasn't been released as that's a more appealing movie with a Disney princess, some of those other titles you mentioned wont even get a look in with me and dareisay many others who aren't strict collectors.Personally I feel a reduced print run is on the cards with some of these other titles.
