then possible customs charges on top of that.EEK!

Then definite customs charges on top. Shipping is by DLH courier to the UK, and all invoices are submitted for HMRC charging. And you pay VAT on the price of the shipping as well as the SB.

Maybe this one will go up in value over time, but - for UK guys at least - it's such a hefty initial outlay that it would have to jump up a hell of a lot to make it an investment. Given that the cover art isn't unique or exclusive, I'm not convinced.

Would be a no-brainer if the purchase price was half what it is. But at this price... :ugh:

This will no doubt be the highest valued of the Terminator steels, but the retail price is already more than Terminator UK on ebay. I see the "investment opportunity" of this steel, like I do with most other JP steels, but you can't compare Terminator JP to Batman Begins JP. Right off the bat the biggest difference is that Batman is soooo much bigger than Terminator. Than the second is that this exact Terminator steel has been released in many other countries and has nothing cosmetically different.

I'm not going to blind buy it hoping that will be up to par with Jaws. It will be available after release day. Let me see some pics first.

yep, no inside artwork is a complete failure...$100 for no inside artwork? Puleeze :hilarious: I guess buy what makes you happy...but I would be miserable paying $100 for this issue when other countries releasing the same artwork for far less :) If Japan was the only country releasing the front artwork, then I can see it fetching premium...but it doesn't :)

CANCELLED :)

Yep, I can't justify paying $96+ for one steel. My order of DKR & Inception is just $4 more.

Those re releases really hurt it, but I tell you one thing is if you want a sealed version the Japan version is the cleanest. I don't like the U.K. slips. I think they all detract the steelbook.

Again, I totally agree. I really like the white JP Steels.

Well i think this recent reply from Amazon.jp is the final shove toward me canceling.

An investigation of our appropriate department has been completed and they reported that special features which comes with "[Amazon.co.jp limited edition] terminator steel book spec Blu-ray (first press limited edition) [Blu-ray]" footages are extra, and it does not come with any booklets.

Quite possibly the worst steel released by amazon jp. Price horrendously offensive, no interior art, no booklet. What next no discs?

Thick or thin I am in. I will go down with the ship if I have too. This high price tells me something. It tells me it will have a slip.

The price is double what any other catalog title at amazon Japan lists for.

I was correct with E.T. and I will be correct with Terminator as well.

I say why take the risk? At this price it's not going to go OOS anytime soon, (in fact the available quantity is now INCREASING as people are cancelling) so if the presentation is spectacular - and at this price it would have to be - then I'll pick it up after release. When you get to this sort of price point on catalogue titles, it pays to be sure you're getting something you really want rather than blind buying. At least for us UK guys who get ruthlessly hammered with import taxes and duties on Japanese titles :ugh:

Well they'll sure make some nice looking coasters. :D

I suppose you might have short memory. Look at Paul and Jaws. Same steelbook as other countries, yet they fetch a small fortune. I took the gamble and won.

at this point there's no way Amazon sells all of the 230+ available copies before release. I'll wait and see like I did with Jaws.

254 copies as of now. Cancellations are more than keeping pace with purchases.

I was correct with E.T. and I will be correct with Terminator as well.

Except that E.T. - a comparable title in terms of being a worldwide release - is still in stock. For most collectors there's little incentive to blind buy this one for now.

Its an iconic film. Once it goes OOS prices will rise over the next year. We are seeing food prices spike. That is a sign of hyper inflation. I expect more people to collect physical things and pull money out of the stock market.

This film is a great one to collect.

Don't disagree with any of that, Chip, but for us UK buyers, the landed cost on this title will be something in the region of 130-140 dollars. That's some investment right from the get go (and doesn't include credit card interest etc.) if one is hoping to resell and make a profit over the long term. I think for you guys in the US the import costs are somewhat cheaper, which makes it a safer bet.

But anyway, I hope you're right and it's a killer slip. I'll look forward as always to your in-hand pics :)
