I see that horrible stretchy, melty face artwork is back up for the front artwork (on steelbook search, though not on The Thing page itself), and as the rear design has a slight green shading to it I suspect they've decided to go with their original choice of artwork for this SB
For me, that image has been there both on the search page and the actual item page since this morning. I haven't been keeping that up-to-date with this steelbook, but I thought the front art had been confirmed a while ago... clearly I was wrong. I guess it's official now it's up on Play.com though.

I like the back, not sure about the front. I'll wait until I see pics before I decider whether I'm going to double dip or not. If the title is debossed then I'll prob get it

I know, seems daft and doesn't go with the design of the others, hope they drop the image on the front also and it's just temporary? I may well go for the amaray if they don't, although I love the back, even if it's similar to the French prequel steel (but then they basically copies the original anyway)
That cover is actually for the video game. they rereleased it with the same cover to promote it

What are they playing at? The whole design smells of laziness on the designers behalf! It looks like they thought.... 'what can I do with the back artwork?....I can't come up with any other horizontal design. Oh forget it! I'll just stick on the original cover art-even if both covers won't match'!!!!
They were long enough finalising the concept, I'd thought they would have come up with something a lot better than this

And will this new wave be lacking inside artwork unlike the first batch??

Aah yes! I understand what your saying. All the other Steelbooks have the Universal writing at the bottom center. So the guy standing in the picture will be on the left hand side of the back fading to white on the right.
That has made me look at it in a whole new light. It would look a bit better I suppose
Ohhhh.... If that back art is final, I'll be back in on this. I can just display the damn thing backwards, no problem there.
