Official word from ES:

We’re certainly planning to continue doing all future seasons of The Walking Dead in steelbook with matching artwork – it looks likely season 4 will be out in September 2014 as it follows the same pattern as Game of Thrones (i.e. the new season hits DVD and Blu-Ray just before the new season starts).

We’ve been told that the steelbooks will feature in the US Walking Dead magazine, so likely to be quite a bit of international interest for these.

The Entertainment Store is pleased to announce our latest exclusive steelbook releases: Seasons 1, 2 and 3 of The Walking Dead, AMC’s Emmy Award winning TV series.

Each season features world exclusive artwork by Mark Simpson AKA Jock, who is responsible for some of best regarded comics and art of this generation, having worked on 2000AD, The Losers and Hellblazer amongst others as well as producing artwork for many major film studios, including the artwork for HDN Steelbook of the Year 2012 winner The Raid.

The Walking Dead: Season 1 (Entertainment Store Exclusive Blu-Ray Steelbook):

- 2 Blu-Rays discs
- Debossed Title Treatment
- G2 Standard Steelbook case
- Limited to 4,000 copies worldwide
- Finish TBC

The Walking Dead: Season 2 (Entertainment Store Exclusive Blu-Ray Steelbook):

- 3 Blu-Rays discs
- Debossed Title Treatment
- G2 Standard Steelbook case
- Limited to 4,000 copies worldwide
- Finish TBC

The Walking Dead: Season 3 (Entertainment Store Exclusive Blu-Ray Steelbook):

- 5 Blu-Rays discs
- Debossed Title Treatment
- G2 Jumbo Steelbook case
- Limited to 4,000 copies worldwide
- Finish TBC

NB: Due to the number of discs needed for all episodes and extras, Season 3 has to be in a Jumbo format case.

All 3 Seasons are sold individually, and will be on sale exclusively through The Entertainment Store on Rakuten Play.com at midday BST on Friday 11th October 2013 when the release date and pricing will be revealed.

In the meantime, our full range of steelbooks is available here: http://www.play.com/stores/EntertainmentStore/Steelbooks

The Entertainment Store has been trading on Marketplaces since 2013 and is proud to retail only authentic and high quality Entertainment goods, delivered to customers direct from the Studio and Publishers.

The first series is by far the best one. Second gets a little flat as in can we stay or must we go , then towards the end LEG IT.

Third series soap oprah with Zombies. I wont bother as once Frank Deierbount (I'm on the smart phone and it carnt work out the spelling) departed the franchise that is when it went downhill fast. I hope series 4 is better.

I am LOVING the actual steelbook's it is nice to see some originality. A shame that the produces could not put the same effort in with series 2 &3.

If only it would be planned for 2014, I d order on the GB immediately... But I m sure it Will be for end of the month or november and I Will not be able to pay for the 3 seasons :-(

I'll give you one of the main reasons I will pass one these and one other one too.
I'll start with the other one first, and that's the jumbo. However the main reason is if you're patient enough and wait for the show to finish it's last season, there might be a really cool set that contains every season much like the Dexter slide box.

Or there might not be a really cool box set, just a plain ****** one and then these Steels might be impossible to get or really expensive! Also anyone who bought the first two, then would have to buy the jumbo or they would always have a gap in their collection!

Thats always the dilemma though, do you buy the items you want, or a 'complete collection' including items you dont actually want just to complete the collection...Also will future seasons have similar art to keep things uniform?...part of me wants these to be expensive so I can use that as my excuse for not buying them lol...we'll find out later....

Can Wreck or somebody in the know not ask the guys at ES if tey plan on supporting this in future seasons?

If it will be a success for ES (so sell all of them quite fast), they will continue!!!
Well, that would make sense from the business point of view... But this "Steelbook-Business" is far from logical i guess ;)

price is quite fair

but i rly dont know about that artwork.. i dont like it at all, but what if it looks a lot better in person ? :ohno::ohno:

I don't mind the price, and the artwork for the 3 is pretty nifty too so I have ordered all 3.

However with the December release I may cancel some other things elsewhere, or its gonna be an expensive month
