Official word from ES:

We’re certainly planning to continue doing all future seasons of The Walking Dead in steelbook with matching artwork – it looks likely season 4 will be out in September 2014 as it follows the same pattern as Game of Thrones (i.e. the new season hits DVD and Blu-Ray just before the new season starts).

We’ve been told that the steelbooks will feature in the US Walking Dead magazine, so likely to be quite a bit of international interest for these.

The Entertainment Store is pleased to announce our latest exclusive steelbook releases: Seasons 1, 2 and 3 of The Walking Dead, AMC’s Emmy Award winning TV series.

Each season features world exclusive artwork by Mark Simpson AKA Jock, who is responsible for some of best regarded comics and art of this generation, having worked on 2000AD, The Losers and Hellblazer amongst others as well as producing artwork for many major film studios, including the artwork for HDN Steelbook of the Year 2012 winner The Raid.

NB: Due to the number of discs needed for all episodes and extras, Season 3 has to be in a Jumbo format case.

I agree. I'm no keen that only one character from each series is the main focus. The only way this can be redeemed is if the back features all the other chast members and the price isn't too extortionate. I would love this set as TWD is one of my fave shows atm but only if it is reasonable.

Anyway.. The steels are disgusting. No doubt they will be expensive, and I hate Jumbo Steels, so there would be no point in buying seasons 1 and 2 without jumbo 3. You can also fit 4 discs into a steelbook so there is no need for a jumbo for season 3.

4 discs for the episodes and then an extras disc. I for one would have no problem dropping the extras so it would fit in a standard steelbook, but that's just me

However, I did see somewhere that there may be a way to fit 6 discs into a standard Blu-ray Steelbook.

Why not include disc 5 (for season 3) in an envelope inside the case? I know people moaned when it happened with PotC, but its better than jumbo imo

I like the idea of all 3 seasons on steel, I don't like that artwork at all. The colours seem dull and sickly, there is so much more potential to be had for inspiration.

I think the artwork is horrible to be honest. Any of the pictures posted by Antman would've been way better if they wanted the comic book look.

Id prefer the title on the front to be in red like the spine. Tbh the more i look at the pics, the more im not sure i want them

Seasons 1-3 are available on amazon for £52 It'd be cool to get all of them for £75. The demand from these from non collectors isn't high as people rarely by TV series and if they want the walking dead they will already have the amaray and many of us already own the amaray to double dip at a high price. I'll double dip at a film worth £20 but i'm not going to spend over £75 on something I already own.

Some people might have been waiting it out for all steelbooks, or a big box set. So I think this will be a very popular release, because the show is great, and the ratings keep climbing every season, which is not usually the norm.

I already have Season 1 in Digipack, and I have the Target Season 3 Jumbo steelbook.

So for me, this is more about having the whole set in steelbook, without having to go German.

I wonder if they will release all the seasons as they are made in these Steelbooks? I can't stand if one season looks different than the other. Must be ocd or something lol.
