Official word from ES:

We’re certainly planning to continue doing all future seasons of The Walking Dead in steelbook with matching artwork – it looks likely season 4 will be out in September 2014 as it follows the same pattern as Game of Thrones (i.e. the new season hits DVD and Blu-Ray just before the new season starts).

We’ve been told that the steelbooks will feature in the US Walking Dead magazine, so likely to be quite a bit of international interest for these.

The Entertainment Store is pleased to announce our latest exclusive steelbook releases: Seasons 1, 2 and 3 of The Walking Dead, AMC’s Emmy Award winning TV series.

Each season features world exclusive artwork by Mark Simpson AKA Jock, who is responsible for some of best regarded comics and art of this generation, having worked on 2000AD, The Losers and Hellblazer amongst others as well as producing artwork for many major film studios, including the artwork for HDN Steelbook of the Year 2012 winner The Raid.

The Walking Dead: Season 1 (Entertainment Store Exclusive Blu-Ray Steelbook):

- 2 Blu-Rays discs
- Debossed Title Treatment
- G2 Standard Steelbook case
- Limited to 4,000 copies worldwide
- Finish TBC

The Walking Dead: Season 2 (Entertainment Store Exclusive Blu-Ray Steelbook):

- 3 Blu-Rays discs
- Debossed Title Treatment
- G2 Standard Steelbook case
- Limited to 4,000 copies worldwide
- Finish TBC

The Walking Dead: Season 3 (Entertainment Store Exclusive Blu-Ray Steelbook):

- 5 Blu-Rays discs
- Debossed Title Treatment
- G2 Jumbo Steelbook case
- Limited to 4,000 copies worldwide
- Finish TBC

NB: Due to the number of discs needed for all episodes and extras, Season 3 has to be in a Jumbo format case.

All 3 Seasons are sold individually, and will be on sale exclusively through The Entertainment Store on Rakuten Play.com at midday BST on Friday 11th October 2013 when the release date and pricing will be revealed.

In the meantime, our full range of steelbooks is available here: http://www.play.com/stores/EntertainmentStore/Steelbooks

The Entertainment Store has been trading on Marketplaces since 2013 and is proud to retail only authentic and high quality Entertainment goods, delivered to customers direct from the Studio and Publishers.

Good win for Sunderland yesterday mind, atmosphere sounded cracking on the telly.

(I'm gonna get told off in a minute, for getting off topic lol).

I don't know whether to pre-order this or not, I can only really afford one series around Christmas, but wouldn't want to just have one set, and the others sell out.

Mackem here, my dad was at the match and said it was brilliant, I don't like football myself like, I was gutted I couldn't find a seat in mcdonalds coz it was full of supporters lol

Anyways back on track! I love the show and love the artwork, but it's just too damn expensive for me, if I buy just season 1 know my luck 2 and 3 will sell out before I get a chance to buy them

What's the size difference between a G2 normal and G2 jumbo case? Will I be able to stack season 3 with 1 and 2, given that I stack vertically?

^
Yep same size just not the same thickness. Jumbos have a big plastic wall sandwiched between the standard steelbook front and back. The main thing that sucks about this is that the plastic has always been a solid color therefore no inside artwork.

They just don't feel the same. The worst one ever was that Lord Of the Rings Jumbo Stickerbook. What a cheap piece of crap.

the spines don't look as bad on the Star Trek TNG jumbos either....

Its all that solid blue. They should have put some clouds or something on the UP jumbo spine.

You will be able to stack them together fine, they are the same size just thicker. It's worth mentioning that you have to be careful when stacking horizontally, I would imagine too much weight might put pressure on the Steels IMO.

Especially if you're stacking jumbos on slims.

It'd be like a skinny girl at the bottom of a pile-on at Fat Camp.

Alright, I'll keep that in mind, thanks. My shelf is pretty small though, so I don't stack many on top of each other.

And are ES really sticking with th edited 15 cert?? In the States it got re-released with a black and white edition of the 1st episode, really went to town on making the extras "special".

Just seems a shame to got to town on a great looking steelbook but not bother on the contents of the discs themselves - especially when a far better edition (disc wise) has already been released :(
