This is one of my favorite movies of all-time. The subject matter is very dear and close to my heart. Growing up with a father who loved wrestling, some of my most cherished memories of my Dad, involve him with us watching wrestling. My Father died when I was 9, but my love for Wrestling continued through my teens and adulthood. Even though now at 32, being a casual wrestling fan, I never have lost my love and above all RESPECT for what they do. See, wrestling doesn't have a off-season, these people are on the road and away from their families year around. And most times the people they get to see the most are the fans in the stands who love them regardless of their shortcomings or imperfections. A friend once ask me, why do you like wrestling, you know it's 'fake' right? I smiled, and ask him, "why do you like movies, you know it's fake right?," I told him even though outcomes maybe scripted, these are still people putting their bodies on the line to perform for their audience, and unlike actors in-movies, these stars only get one take to get it right. The movie, The Wrestler showcased in brutal detailing what you give, and what you give up to be apart of this profession. Out of all the releases in-line for 2014, right behind the HDN Exclusive Steelbook #2, this is the one that I'm most excited to own. Thanks for reading!

If you look at it it doesn't look like your average matte finish. It may be that white underlayer or something.

But yeah, the digipak is awesome as well!


I saw the blu-ray for like £3 in my local store. I didn't pick it up tho as I wanna buy this one!

Well, unlike Zavvi we actually get to see all of the steelbook and know the finish before release. And on top of that, a picture of the actual steel... Zavvi lost.

It will be release 2 different version. one of steelbook, other one of slip cover blu-ray. But, I don't know the steelbook is included slip cover or 1/4 slip.
