Yes, there will be 1/4 slip steelbook and Slipcase 'Amaray' release but there will be another version of this steelbook as they mention on their FB page comments;

View attachment 56724

As you can read from the comments, they are now in process in designing the slipcase for the steelbook.

So there will be 2 versions, 1/4 slip and slipcase (slipcover):oohyeah::oohyeah:

Hell yeah!

I think that might be a mistake in translation/information, when the 'full slip' was mentioned, the reply from PLAIN was referring to the slipcase like Melancholia,

ohvdpt.jpg

seeing that The Wrestler is set to have a Steelbook & Slipcase release that maybe what they were referring to instead of a Quarter slip & Full slip Steelbook option.

i.e:

Steelbook Release

I don't know which version to get now. The steelbook because it looks awesome and it's a steelbook. Or the slipbox because it looks awesome and I can line up the spine (Plain Archive 002) with the Plain Archive 001 Melancholia (provided I can get an order in once that goes up for sale).

Either way, Plain Archive is getting my money. And I can't wait to see what other movies they come out with.

Their success with the steelbook with undoubtedly lead to more future steelbooks. Something to consider into your calculations.

Well I'm currently obsessing over everything Plain Archive so I figure if I cut out my lunch at work and borrow my son's bike to get there I will lose weight- and save enough money to maybe get them all! :D

Any ideas how much we might be looking at for the steelbook delivered to the UK? This release looks awesome and I've always held off buying the Wrestler even though I love the film, just need to know if I need a loan out to afford this one!

That depends on your salary  My guess, shipping is around 15 dollars... steelbook around 40 dollars...

Total of 55 US dollars and since the US dollar aint worth much...

33 pounds or 40 euros for 1 steel shipped.

But between you and me, that's a price i'll gladly pay for this stunner of a steelbook.

Price will have to be quite low, otherwise too expensive for me personally, unless Plain Archive are customs friendly. $45-55 shipped is not too bad a price but when you add in customs it becomes too much for 1 steel (over £40!).

If this is coming directly from Plain Archive then they are bypassing the middle man so they should not cost much more than around $30. Its a catalog title that I would imagine doesn't sell very much worldwide to begin with.

Their Melancholia release is 33 dollars and sold out easily.

Understanding marketing and the hype they are getting from filmfreaks here and in other forums are making their releases highly anticipated.

If you want to market yourself as a company which releases high quality releases with second to none artwork for a decent, but definitely not cheap price. Then their steelbook will not be price for 30 dollars.

It's suicide for your business if you set your product pricing strategy low from the beginning.

They have everything going for them now. Just like what Apple had a couple years back, they have the "cool" factor now.

And for that "cool" factor which you cannot buy as a company, the business and commercial side of a good business man will keep the pricing high. You can always go low. But if you start low, its nearly impossible to go high with your pricing and getting away with it.

I hope you're right Chip, cause it will save me money ;-)

But from a commercial point of view, that's what I would do. Knowing the releases will sell out anyway.

will I be able to buy this at Kimchidvd?

Don't think so, but why bother?

They have their own website with integrated webshop with international shipping ;-)

I guess it will not be around 30$

35.99 to 41.99$ plus extra shippimg charge

slipbox with blu-ray is 31.99$ but discounted price in local market is 27.99$.

kimchi will not sell this one because plain archive own their shop to sell product internationally.

Was that a pre order price?

It even states on the plainarchive.com site, that Melancholia (slip) is 33 dollars....
