so how does the customs charge work?

my order came to £28 for the full slip. if i am charged by customs, what happens? does my order get held by the post office until i pay a customs fee? how does it work?

If you get charged and in the UK expect to pay £5.60 for VAT and a further £8.00 handling fee if Royal Mail EEK!

Depends on your country...

EDIT - in the UK, they bring it to your house and you pay at the door. They may phone the day before to make sure you'll be in.

Where I live (in the UK) they stopped that years ago. Now they leave a grey card telling you the charges, and you have to go to the sorting office to pay up and collect it. I assumed it was nationwide, and they didn't want posties walking around with pocketfuls of cash.

News to me, but it has been a good 12 months since I paid customs on anything.

Not sure how much more it costs to manufacture with a gloss finish but maybe they want to get a few sold out editions under their belt before making the jump to a glossy. Now if they could look at releasing a 'Moon' steelbook in gloss I would be all over that.

Yes, you're right. Zavvi always hide their steelbook until the last moment.

But I want to see PA's full gloss finished steelbook of ZERO DARK THIRTY next time.

Are you sure? Zavvi puts up the artwork for majority of its releases.

Thought the US stores are the worst offenders when it comes to revealing the artwork.

PA are new to the market and they probably have learned how not to do Steelbook release. I am pretty sure that any collector will have the same attitude if you were in their capacity.

I mean actual shot, not rendering artwork. ;)

Maybe if Zavvi release one Steelbook a month like PA then probably they can do the actual shot. But what Zavvi are doing is saturating the market though it has pleased many bargain hunters or those who don't own other editions.

I see, There's some truth in what you say. :) Anyway I have many ZAVVI steelbooks and I love them. :)
