One could only guess as we all know 4k minimum is 4k minimum just maybe they were allowed to do 2k twbb and 2k tbwtsp who knows.

i think maybe its never been an absolute must for studios/retailers to order 4k minimum (see asia region)... is it possible that 4k and above is just the quantity where steels get a lot cheaper compared to lower print runs...? this might be the reason why steels with lower print runs are usually a bit more expensive... thats just my assumption, i might be wrong.

I'm just curious if you had to choose between There Will be Blood or Pain & Gain
Which would you choose and why

Like the Film more or because of the limited factor or other reason

Me its very straight forward I like There Will be Blood as a movie and would have purchased as a steelbook regardless if it was limited or not

Yet another limited release listed at a completely ridiculous time of the week. I received an eMail mailer from Zavvi, but by that time they had all sold out!

As with previous limited releases (such as ES's Jack Reacher and Zavvi's Pain & Gain), I expect there will be another chance to order this title once Zavvi pull their fingers out and re-list any cancellations. I just hope that they bother giving us a bit of notice next time, or at least a heads-up of when they plan on making the listing live...

I don't see how Sunday afternoon is a 'ridiculous time of the week', a day when the majority are off work and can probably spare a few minutes. In any case advanced notice was given, so there can be no blame attached to HDN or Zavvi. It was clearly stated on Saturday evening by digitalbabe that it would go live Sunday afternoon which it did at around 15:30. It then came back earlier today for a couple of hours as bulk orders were cancelled, again advanced warning was given by digitalbabe. I'm not sure what more you could want.

What happened to Saturday evenings? Zavvi have religiously been making listings live on a Saturday evening around 6pm for several months now, yet as soon as they get a limited item they suddenly decide to change the rules!

I wish they would fall into some kind of regular regime. Everybody has gotten used to announcements on a Tuesday, live listings on a Saturday evening, so why can't they stick to that?

I also despise how HDN members seem to get preferential treatment. F*** everybody else. Zavvi should send out eMail notifications prior to a listing going live, that way everybody has a fair chance of being alerted at the same time directly from the source! Amazon used to be really good at that (until they broke their notification system), so why can't Zavvi adopt this practice?

digitalbabe shared this info with us saturday evening (uk/europe time), many people were waiting for it to go live at the usual time... but we got this info:

Hey folks, ok, this one is scheduled to live in the afternoon UK time tomorrow. If this changes we will post.

and i'm also pretty sure i got a notification email from zavvi a couple of minutes BEFORE it went live on sunday afternoon. sorry, i don't quite get it why you are complaining.

Chill out Heche. You on your period or something?! :p

Zavvi sent out an email as you suggest. I got my email before it went OOS so can't ask for much more than that. And HDN have been keeping us in the loop on pretty much every Zavvi exclusive on a daily basis, regardless of being a member or not, so everybody else didn't get f*****.

There are folks on here in different time zones and sides of the planet who managed to pick one up so Sunday afternoon shouldn't be too difficult for a UK resident to come to terms with, should it?

Let's just chill marn! :chill pill: :rasta:

hey folks, a few reminders.

1) we let most comments stand in discussion threads and typically don't have to do too much thread cleanup on any given day. but if there is going to be a lot of effin' and jeffin' there will be some deleted posts in this threads future.

let's all use our polite and civil voice please.

2) any and all retail feedback about practices, go live times, and the rest should be directed in the Zavvi Retailer thread. If you are unsure where that is located, please use this link.

https://www.hidefninja.com/community/threads/22531/

3) finally, without the hard work and dedication of staff members on this forum, and specifically a big THANK YOU to digitalbabe for chatting with Zavvi about how to make these types of things more visible to you members here, which is FREE information that you don't have to pay for, there would be NO early warning available for members to obtain a copy.

Having said that, we don't control how Zavvi chooses to publish their information, but may folks here do go the EXTRA inch (and MILE) to get the most accurate and complete news that we can.

Obviously I'm partial to this forum, but I do not see this type of DEDICATION in other discussion forums that have dedicated steelbook discussion sections.

I don't think we need to keep hammering this subject. We get it. It's limited, it's gonna be an exciting time in collecting going forward.

Turn that frown upside down. :D

Thank you.

I just double checked my emails and I got my notification at 16:04 on Sunday afternoon (which I presume is the same time that around 10,000+ other zavvi customer's, including yourself, got it)

DB has been hot on updating these threads over the weekend saying it's going live Sunday afternoon

We've ALL been given the EXACT information at the SAME time and we've been updating the HDN community (yourself included) as much as we can so I'm not quite sure where your getting the idea that we're getting preferential treatment so at this point I seriously suggest that you turn your PC off and have a walk around the block to calm down.

It's only a Blu-ray in Steelbook packaging. There's more important things in the world to worry about
