Its the extra Full Slip and Lenticular slipcover that brings it ahead of the cheaper UK versions. Also the fact that each one is individually numbered. How come you can't figure that out yet? These are fully loaded with what the collector wants. Proof is in the demand they are getting.

I will agree that QC is not very good with BF releases. I have always said that.

I think you're confusing the terms 'collector' and 'customer'. Most people don't base their opinion on resale value and profit margins. ;)

I looked at the picture again and the border is waaayyy tooo big, it sticks out like a sore thumb !
As a Collector, I find this is a big detail, it is the steel itself also that we collect, and if I may say mainly the steel which is the core of the Product (not just bonus stuff and slips), and we should not be accepting such mistake and stand our grounds and expect quality.

and you are insinuating that people who are willing to pay well above retail price are not true collectors.

a lot of members from these forums nonsensically overlook the notion that some of the most true to the core collectors happily buy from secondary sources because of the unique, dependable, convenient service received.

I have no idea how you reached that conclusion. I was actually insinuating that @blu-steel based his opinion on how much profit he could make through his 'unique, dependable, convenient service' rather than the actual Steelbooks. It was intended as a humorous wind-up but I guess it was wide of the mark.

you said that he was confusing the word collector with consumer, directly suggesting that he was incorrect to refer to a buyer as a collector.

it's very easy to come to my conclusion.

anyways... to remain on topic, i believe this steelbook needs to be redone, without question.

glossed + fixed border + centered title. boom.

 we deserve the best

you know what... it sounds like a cute little phrase. "we deserve the best" yah. woo hoo. yippee.

but you know what. it's really true. we all want the best because these steelbooks and package deals that they put together for us are very expensive. they are special. everyone knows it makes basically no sense at all to participate in this hobby from a purely logical standpoint. we buy a $3 disc wrapped in a $57 tin case.

so seriously... if the name of this game is "high quality collectible" and that is the entire driving force of what we're after... then why on this planet or any other would they not just GIVE US WHAT WE WANT AND WE WILL PAY PAY PAY! :woot:

Here is the proper script.
Studio + Scanavo: "what do these cats want?"
Blufans: "uh... they want glossy awesome artwork done well and they will beg us to take their money"
Studio + Scanavo: "Let's do it!!"

Bam! Everybody wins. It makes no sense to fight against it.

@jimmyv So true, for me it's needless to say, but we buy those movies wrapped in very expensive little pieces of art and companies should respect that they are in this Hobby Game and that ''average'' is not good enough. We don't want or buy ''average'', but we expect quality finished products for the hard earned money we give them. They Charge us for the perfect package, but I expect them to step up and deliver. No need to feel bad for them, it is their job.

I really wasn't suggesting that at all. I do agree that this needs to be manufactured again though. I don't think collectors should settle for anything less than perfection for the price of a Blufans exclusive.

Not to mention loads of cool 4.99 - 7.99 Region B locked, blowouts!!!! YEE HAW!!!!! :woot: :woot: :woot: :woot: :woot:
I completely agree. It is hard to believe that a nice Steelbook like Anchorman can be acquired so cheaply.

Update from Kevin:

Even though I love the glossy finish, I can live with a matte. I just completely hate the the border issue. Here are some progess reports to you guys. The release will have to remanufacture with a correct size border and improved finish. The print run will be cut dramatically since the demand is expected lower. Because of changes, it will effect the group buy here as well. All orders with two copies will be changed to 1 copy and be strictly limited. Maybe first 400 members have the chance to get a copy. Of course you are not obligated to pay if you don't want to be part of it. There will be no consequences for backing out.

Thank you again!

Utter c*ck up. So this is now going to be completely matte. This isn't sounding like good news for the rest of their Marvel steels. Both this and Iron Man have had problems [emoji20]
