I'm amazed that still to this day both steelbooks are so sought after especially after all of the other releases. I mean they're glorious and worthy of their recognition but normally these things begin to drop.

That doesn't surprise me one bit, everybody knows everything about everything, it's really hard to get a bargain theses days.

Seems like Captain America doesn't carry the same hype anymore though, you can pick some up for quite cheap though I think they're both nice. I'm going to have to pick up another one eBay and hope to sweeten the deal for a Thor one day.

I've been on the look out for a bargain steel in CEX for years but never seem to find one. @ghost1 is right, it's really hard to find a bargain these days, what with the abilities with smartphones etc.

The only shot you gonna get is the hope that a crackhead sells to CEX and the guy behind the counter is a numpty!

But the chances of that happening are extremely slim! What's the chances a crackhead would have a Thor Steel, let alone a mint one!!

I've never seen a steelbook at my CEX, I usually go there before I go to HMV, very limited Blurays in CEX as well, lots of DVDs and games more than anything, I've never seen anything I do not have already or want to buy. I'm almost done on getting a lot of steelbooks on my list, the Blufans releases also helped. This steelbook is still holding it's value nicely though, may sell it one day.

What about Sick Boy in Trainspotting before he goes on the needle - you could get the 2010s equivalent.

Actually, I have found some decent buys in one of our local CEX - some good blus with lenticular slips for a couple of quid, but especially foreign language DVDs (still buy them cause there's no blu rays for most of them) - they don't seem to value them like English language, and often the go in near mint order for just 50p.

Had a friend who used to work there, the staff tend to pick up most of the rare steels, you always get the exceptions though, good luck to anyone willing to take a chance by searching

CEX had Captain America hmv steelbook for ten quid in mint condition this was before I became a serious collector so I took my Amaray version of the same movie to trade up and the kid behind the counter couldn't be bothered to run it through the till and said just swap em over so I got it for a straight swap.
