The good thing is, better or worse designs are subjective.

I like the HMV version, but I'm looking forward to seeing what this new version will look like. Not that I'll buy it even if it's better (to me) as it's not a film I care enough about to bother replacing the case.

I bought the recent UK steelbook for Blade Runner as it's my favourite film and at the time all I wanted was to have it in a steelbook. Now I've seen the forthcoming German version I'll get that one too as I prefer it to the white one. I don't mind that I'm double-dipping, that's my choice and no one is forcing me to do so. As I've said, by-and-large, I just want a steelbook surrounding my Blu-rays, it doesn't need to be a 'specific' steelbook. I'm happy with Play's Iron Man and Watchmen for example and wouldn't swap them for their Futureshop versions. I'm also happy with the Best Buy versions of Batman Begins and The Dark Knight so felt no need to replace them with the new UK versions.

its doesnt matter whether any re-release looks better or worse than the original, as long as it looks different !

as long as there is a difference, collectors will be able to dictate whether they themselves want to pursue a given title that they do not own. Value and rarity should always be dictated by consumers rather than producers...

re-releases with same art will only saturate this hobby rather than help. In any given market there will and should always be items that are more difficult to obtain. It helps collectors maintain an interest to seek those that they do not own.

its really sad to see this EVERYDAY about print runs, same art, increased print runs, re-releases and yada yada... 99% of companies are here to make money, plain and simple. We should all get used to that fact. The faster something grows, the more people try to capitalize on it

Be a real kick in the teeth for the original owners of the 1st Thor if it's the exact same!

Makes your collection a little bit more special if you have a rare title in my opinion!

I like the front, shame they didn't keep the hammer for the back, for me it would have been the best of both copies.

I will be ordering this one though, better than the ebay prices for the original steel.
