Restrictions on finish are not only up to the retailer-other decision makers in the process have a say as well.
I should have left "matte" out.
I should have said "I think Zaavi is thankful anyone buys their cheap steels."
With few exceptions, I quit buying the cheap & cheap looking releases. Like a few others, I've been going for quality rather than quantity.
You truly get what you pay for and settle for.
I like some of the KimchiDVD releases, ES releases, Asian releases especially "Lawrence of Arabia", UK "Taxi Driver", UK "Pulp Fiction", German "Last Stand" Hero Pack, Media Markt Lenticular Magnet releases, Best Buy "Zero Dark Thirty", etc. Releases with more than one disc, a great transfer full of extras, nice finish, embossing/debossing, beautiful cover art & inside art, etc.
I'm really encouraged by the quality releases I've seen and purchased this year.
I think Hi-Def Ninja Forums, their amazing Staff and Contributors has helped immensely to get eTailers to step up their game and improve the quality of releases and let them know how important good service and packaging is to the success or failure of their businesses.
A big, big, huge Thank You to Wreck, Andy, Digital Babe, Drum 18, Naughtius Maximus, Hubmuswell, Biscuitnoir, Sunnyx, Bidou, Bluraysteel, Roverite, Sproutyrouty, and all the others that have made this amazing site what it is and all their hard work!!!!!
