Of course, yes, don't get me wrong I'm all for supporting this site and its members! I was going to join the GB but when I read about the problems with cancelled orders I wasn't too sure whether all members would be succesful unfortunately I decided that it was best for me to go elsewhere, which also took a smidge of added pressure on the GB hosts and assistants

I will be hopping on board some future GB's and contributing where I can!

i can understand this but the GB's also hurt the locals. Us. the people that actually live in the country that it is getting released in. i'm all for group buys if these steel books were made online, but i know these usually just only go for in store purchases. i'm just happy i got to take one home.

I doubt the group buys 80-90 steelbooks (which are sourced from multiple areas not just one) will even scratch the sides of a steelbook run in the US even with this run being smaller that usual. US steelbook runs are probably 10K+ compared to the UK's 4K.

If anything is going to limit the availability it's the ebay scalpers as I bet they've bought a hell of a lot more than the GBs have to sell on.

I have been sourcing steels at cost for people on here lately. I don't clean out stores. I go and buy 3 copies everytime a steel goes on sale in this Country. I buy most my stuff from the UK online.

USA print runs are always well above 20k/30k... we have brick and mortar stores in every state plus online inventory. The gb's dont put a dent in that. And as i always say, if you want something, make sure to be up and early or do a store pick up

They also have them on the island display back by the movie section. Look for spine slashes. I noticed a few with slashes.

My local Best Buy had around 15 steels on a display but...half of them had spine slash

Yeah, I think Captain Phillips was 55K+

We have so many B&M stores, leaves a lot of space for inventory.

Also makes it an easy decision when they price it the same as the regular release...

Was able to pick up 2 copies at the store earlier today for myself, which was all they had out on the shelf at opening. Not sure if they had more in the back, but that was it on the floor which really seemed low to me (maybe already set aside for store pickup?)

I have another couple scheduled for delivery today and a few more for pickup waiting at another store which I can stop by on my way home tonight. Assuming those all show up mint I'll have some extras to help source the GB reserve list if needed as well.

I almost freaked out when I went to two local stores at 10:15 and 10:25 and saw empty racks of where the steel was supposed to be. BB Reps said they only got 5 in. Panic drove another 8 miles to a third BB and the gates of heaven open up when I saw a healthy stash of Thor 2 steels. Picked a couple copies to my liking and headed home. LOL I thought I was SOL when two stores sold out so quickly.
