That seems a bit weird, the US is starting to catch up rapidly with Europe and Canada for SB releases, why have a smaller run on a blockbuster movie in a big franchise.

In my opinion that's unlikely unless it's something like one of the many collectors fairs like you have in the USA, the temptation for the corporations to make money is too high.
