This French edition is so overrated. The discs are the same as the Dutch version. Same audio & subs. Everything is the same execpt the carboard backpaper.

Name Tin Tin is also on the backpaper.

Overrated + Store Exclusive = Rare & Sought after Steelbook, works well for me lol

Yea it has nothing to do with being nearly the same as the dutch one, its rare, and thats all that matters. Cowboys and aliens target, same as fs ver but more rare and a terrible movie was going for $100.

I guess it's the same deal with the Future Shop release of Smurfs. In my opinion, the fact that's it's more exclusive because you need someone in France to pick it up adds to its hype. And well, maybe it's a little bit streched out, but since the comics were released in french, and since the characters's names are the original ones (not Struppi or any other butchered name), that adds to its future rarity/value.

And this is not the first time that 2 exact same releases end up having 2 different values in the eyes of collectors. Someone mentioned Cowboys and Aliens Target vs Cowboys and Aliens FutureShop, and that's the same principle. Same thing goes for Star Trek FutureShop vs Star Trek Play.com. In the eyes of the collectors, the second one has less value.

Sorry, I can't agree with you, because I only have the second one not the first one. j/k :joy:

because it says Tin Tin on the CardBoard EEK!

you know that probably 80% of steelBook buyers dont open the steels up ??

I mean lets be fair , This aint gonna be an IM ot JR , so wats the point in being silly paying $80 , when it will be $25 in less than a month after release ??

Just like DRIVE (HMV) , every one went crackers playing it up :hilarious: , you can get them 10 a penny on Evil Bay now for under 20 Quid ;)

my 10 cents worth

how is it gonna be less then $25 when its retailing for $33 ?:hilarious:

Actually TinTin is a Belgian comic and since Belgium is a bilingual country (French and Dutch) and the comic was released as TinTin and Kuifje the steelbook with both those names is most genuin :naughty: ;)

Still think its a load of hot air bout this french release, im not usualy bothered but for some reason people thinking this is rare when it isnt really bugs me. The joys of steelbook collecting.

Watched this last night and really enjoyed it, bring the sequel on Mr. Steven S. :scat:

Can't wait for my French Steelbook to arrive now, Tintin that is not ;)
