A french member on a french forum told us he saw the ad for the Steelbook. This is an Auchan(Walmart like) exclusive.

i dont see anything on this thread suggesting that its sold out so were you get that information i have to question, nor do i see anything on ebay suggesting they are selling for that price either.

A couple of french members said they went to buy it and no stores had them and check completed auctions on eBay.

i have checked the completed listings not really showing anything apart from one steel, that sold for £50 i think. carnt go on one listing im afraid.

france is a big place, sure theres still plenty in shops dotted about infact i think ive read one stor has 70 copies when a french member went in.

Well my french buddy picked up some copies today and he said the store received 71 copies. Not the same city but still, 25 seems like a very small number.

every time you post it just sounds bitter

It may sound bitter but it isnt, im merely helping newer members not get sucked in by the hype of this french release and paying more money than necassary when the same steel is in 4 different countries and cheaper i may add.

But it doesent help when members on here are trying to make it something it isnt. If its to do with the slip saying tintin the dutch version has the full english title on it.

you aren't helping anyone though

you can try to argue against the hype all you want but at the end of the day facts are the facts.

Many people said breaking dawn wasn't limited or rare and dismissed the release and the next day its sold out everywhere and selling for $50-$60 on ebay.Various french members here and french sites are saying no steels are to be found.

Folks-please keep it civil in this thread, and use your own judgment, on what matters to you. Creating false hype for the benefit of Ebay sales happens every day. Most people will not care about any difference in a slip, but some will. Try to keep things in perspective...the Steel is still the same. Lets not create unnecessary drama here.

I do agree db you just carnt tell some people, when there blinded by hype. Like u said its a multi country release at the end of the day.

It's not rare! It only looks like it is because it's hard to get hold of - It's not being sold online for a start and is available exclusively instore at Auchan, which makes it hard for those of us outside of France to get one.

I'm sure if there was another GB on this from somebody in France we'd ALL be able to get one.

You guys can hype this all you want, but that's all it is in my book. Hype. Even FNAC exclusives with books etc. are not widely sought after, they are niche inside our niche hobby of steelbooks. Hardcore steel collectors like to go after the fnac exclusives. But at the end of they day, they have something added to it ... what does this have added to it? Have I missed something?

As for long term demand, this WILL NOT have it ... I don't see a bunch of "Smurfs" in anyone's want lists. ;)
