Why are we receiving steelbooks in plastic bags? I've always received HMV sb's in boxes before - have they run out?

I thought someone on this forum posted about how HMV switched warehouses and they were posting everything in bags in the short term.

Not sure where they heard that though..

It's true, it's the excuse they've been using in email responses to complaints:

HMV Customer Services said:
Thanks for your email. I'm really sorry that your item has turned out to be damaged. We are experiencing temporary packaging issues due to the fact that we are moving our main warehouse and consequently our automatic packaging system is currently out of action. We anticipate that things will be back to normal by the end of the month.

Nope no response, but my message is still there

I don't like the artwork too much, but the film is pretty good...still undecided on this one though...so many more to get that I may wait on this one

My personal experience with HMV is to call them, may take a bit longer, cost something but you tend to get immediate results.

As I've posted before and they do mention on their website they are moving back to the mainland for distribution due to the abolition of Low Value Consignment Relief. (Wiki page is here or here.)

It's not being abolished as items imported from countries other than the Channel Islands are unaffected. It's only items dispatched from the Channel Islands which are no longer able to take advantage of the relief. I don't really know how the Government have got away with penalising the Channel Islands whilst seemingly allowing everyone else to do as they please.

OK abolition is possibly a bit harsh, but it means that Jersey/Guernsey aren't the Tax Havens they used to be insofar as VAT on small items like DVD's & Blu's are concerned.

Wow I don't think I've ever seen anything like that before mate, Royal Mail must have been having a kickabout with that during their lunch hour.

Nice dog. :D

Mine arrived today as well in a jiffy bag  but was in good condition apart from a small dent in the corner, which i managed to push back in so happy about that.

What i don't get is my 21 jump street blu ray that i received from them last week came in a cardboard box. Don't know what HMV are playing at really bad service, it's not on :(

FYI the suppose "restoration" comparison is a total con

no way did the un-remastered film EVER look like that! and i've had this on VHS, Laserdisc, DVD, HD-DVD and 2 x Blurays (this is my third dip)

but as for the transfer itself, i think it looks stunning for a catalogue title!

has a nice film like look to it with natural grain

Picked this up instore from HMV last night, tempted to get all HMV releases in store from now on.

I saw they take pre orders in store for the avengers steel, i might do it even though my current Avenger steelbooks are on pre order for 12-13 quid :S
