forget 2d/3d arguments.

lets unite against the ludicrous pricing :p

last year picked up the blu ray trilogy as a gift for £12.99. now they want £19.99 per bone dry edition of the films. I say that's a greater cause to be annoyed about.

Excellent point! +1

The amount zavvi is charging for some of these catalog titles is ridiculous! £14.99 as a standard pricing I can agree with, but once its starts to go upwards of £20 that is crazy. Byzantium and Place Beyond the Pines both of which are new releases cost £17.50. How is a 20 year old movie cost £2.50 MORE??!!

Zavvi's price is ridiculous for a single disc release.
For goodness sake it's near $40 USD.

Yeah that is pretty high. At the current exchange right it would be $32.04.
And I agree with cardman why are Zavvi raising the price of these so high as of recent?

The more I look at it, the front just looks wrong. The bare blue wallpaper ain't right, where are the clouds?
To be fair, it's not like this is a new change for this release. They've been using this image instead of the original poster with the clouds (and Hamm) for over ten years - ever since it's first DVD/second VHS release. Strangely though, they did use the one WITH the clouds and Hamm for the recent 3D blu ray release.

Inconsistency is the name of the game at Disney.

Am I the only one who thinks it'd make a nice change to have that back artwork as the front artwork instead, with the characters embossed making it really feel like they're flying towards you?

Ok, I'll get my coat...

That's an idea for any retailer who may want to release this with a 3D disc! ;)

I'm looking forward to this release. I'm not bothered about 3D personally, 2D all the way! Plus 3D would surely increase the prices, they are already a little inconsistent across both collections:
Finding Nemo £16.99 (#1 Pixar)
Monsters University £23.99 (#2 Pixar)
Toy Story £19.99 (#3 Pixar)
Aladdin £16.99 (#1 Disney)
Jungle Book £22.99 (#2 Disney)
The Little Mermaid £22.99 (#3 Disney)
Wreck It Ralph £22.99 (#4 Disney)
Planes £22.99 (#5 Disney)

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Toy Story being a *slightly* more purse-friendly £19.99 means that Zavvi/Disney are reconsidering the higher pricing, £20+ for a single disc steelbook is very expensive especially if you are hoping to buy a selection of titles from both collections. I can't help but wonder if The Little Mermaid and Jungle Book are still in stock due to the higher pricing whereas Finding Nemo and Aladdin went OOS very quickly at £16.99.

Bought this movie on vhs then dvd then blu ray then the German blu ray steelbook and I've pre ordered this one. .. I've spent a lot of money on this one film but it has been worth it.
I'm happy that its not £23 but I'm hoping there will be a money off code in the near future and I'll re-order at a reduced price.
I really do like the artwork for this, although I think I would've like to see more of the other characters on the steelbook somewhere, front, mainly buzz and woody, back buzz and woody, inside... Mmmm, buzz and woody.

It would be nice if they emboss buzz & woody on the front, even if they just embossed their heads.

lovely artwork but too expensive for me. especially because im one of the very few who actually like the german steels as well and i bought all 3 for nearly the same price as this will cost me (+ the german toy story 3 steel is a 2 disc set, don't expect that content from zavvi).

Been out of the country so just seen this. Not suprised that they have released Toy Story. Just a shame that they they have taken the DVD artwork and not come up with something new. I will proberly either hold out for a discount code or wait to see what this looks like in hand before ordering.

Just had an email come through to say that Zavvi are offering jungle book for £9.99 when purchased with toy story pre order. Might be a good offer for a few out there... If not slashed the jungle book is a lovely steelbook.

Cancelled my previous order of 3 using the 10% code after placing an order with my standard two + a Jungle Book that will hopefully be unslashed (my current copy is my only slashed steelbook on my Disney shelf).
