Does anyone know how many of these were released?

Just finished reading the thread. Around 10,000. Thanks andy

10,000 seems like a high number to me, I have no idea how many were printed, but back then I thought they were only making in bunches of 4,000 per lot.
Think of it this way, there is no steelbook that I know of printed 10,000 copies and is considered rare, and for a case that sells for ~$100 and without a movie to watch!
My point is 10,000 doesn't sound right to me.

I can believe 10k. As this was pre-order bonus it would of ended up in the hands of loads of non-collectors lots who have probably shoved it somewhere not knowing it's true value :hilarious: Also this is generally considered one of the best looking steelbook which would make it more popular than other steelbooks with a smaller print run thus making it harder to find. So yeah 10k is probably correct in my opinion.

all of you guys are just speculating....we just don't know for sure :) 1,000 or 4,000 or 10,000 or even 100,000 LOL.

I managed to pick up an unsealed but "like new" copy of this on eBay for £47 last week... it arrived today with discs! The seller hadn't mentioned that he would include the actual film with it, so I feel like I got myself quite the bargain. Kind of makes up for all the trouble I had with my recent eBay seller situation. :)

it's been awhile since I got mine from a friend in Canada, but I thought these were empty cases given with pre-orders that were unsealed?

I remember seeing tons of the cases sitting on their shelf, at least 50.
The case was scaned for one cent, but you have to buy the blu ray movie along with it.

I sold minr and bought the german version. The reason im selling this my kid likes the film and i dont him to damage the steel. So i sold it and replace it with german version. Sorry to say i collect steelbook but im steelbook collector lol

Very nice pick up even got the discs! lol. The seller should had put it world wide not just North America, no wonder I couldn't find it :) That's where he went wrong and that's where you got a good deal. That would be selling for about £50 if it was in the UK.
