Hey there, there is a reason why I didn't accept your friendship request, even though you sent me one a few months ago. This is another of your insensitive comments that re-affirms my decision...

To make this post relevant to this thread, IMHO, Zavvi is killing steel-collecting as a hobby. 90% of the new releases don't interest me one bit anymore, this included.

Edit : All I am trying to say is steel is becoming as prevalent as amaray, therein spells the beginning of the end of collecting steel as a hobby. I speak for myself, and I suppose a few other people I know of. Sure, it brings a whole of lot of new people interested in it, and that's the evolution of any form of new media or the like, but it loses some of the older guard. And as I learnt over the past year, a few of these new collectors will choose to collect grails later on, some may not. But who will turn down the opportunity to pick up an IM FS or T2 V2 JP sealed now for, say, $100? Or in this case, a RoTF FS for $50? IMO, not many.
Kay first and far most before i say my peace i just wonna let you know that I DON'T GIVE A SACK OF S?!T THAT YOU DIDN'T ACCEPT MY FRIEND REQUEST:hilarious::hilarious: WHO CARES!!!! now on to the matter at hand wonna apoligize if i offended any collecters highly respect you guy's opinions and would want you to respect mines so if i offended you guy's in anyway im sorry later guy's:thumbs:

Exactly. There should not be personal attacks. Different opinions are healthy and normal. But not when people degenerate into personal attacks. it does not destroy steelbooks. it destroys this forum.

I am sorry I did not see this post sooner but chanfm says it the best - "personal attacks destroys this forum." We all want this forum to continue to thrive and grow and for all of us to have fun with this hobby while making friends all around the world. Let's learn to have differing opinions with respect for each other at all times.

I understand why some people are upset about this and Dark of the Moon, but the key thing to remember is that neither of these were released in the UK before. As a blockbuster franchise with a ton of fans in this country, it would be a shame if it stayed that way. Yes, I could always get the German 3d edition of DOTM, but I waited patiently for the 3d amaray which also included all the extras, after learning they were trying to rip the UK market off. So these two steelbooks are great for me, and many other people, because we can finally complete the set.

Issue with this - steelbook collecting is now a global game. Just had a conversation with a UK studio about this recently - if you want to sell out your run, make it unique.

Most collectors on here already got the release somewhere else.

Personally, I'm always looking for the most appealing "package" of items, including a steelbook - not the huge collector's set mind, but something that has nice added value - slip cover, etc.

Exactly. The vast majority of collectors purchase and trade titles from all over the world. That is why many purchased the Kimchi exclusive of Terminator 2 i.e. because it is the best version available.

Will be buying this for sure but sick and tired of non 3D steels not being released when they are possible so DOTM will be a big NO.

I dont think ROTF was 3D though?!

Correct me if I am wrong?!

So don't understand the NEED for a 3D version that never was intended that way!

It's not, no 3D on this one

The "big thing" with this one was the IMAX version, that was a Walmart exclusive in the USA.

I don't believe the "big screen" IMAX edition has ever been available in the UK...

That's true, apsmith, but given the amount of steelbooks available, it's nice to have the option of buying a cheaper version instead. It's even better value for me because I won't have to deal with customs. It won't affect the value of the rarer versions, and they often have different finishes anyway. If you're happy with the version you have, then you may not even want this.

Nice to see that the inside art work is different to the FS release. Don't think this one suits the steelbook at all.

More and more differences between this and the FS release.

I currently have my 2 disc set and also my 2 Disc Big Screen Edition set in 2 separate but identical FS Steelbooks. At least with this I will be able to differentiate between the 2 editions once I put my BSE discs inside this version. Looks great without the blue banner.
