Im hoping it doesnt have the bluray banner at the top. Embossing on the title will be nice with a glossy finish.

That's exactly my hope for this release. I love my transformers 1 UK SB and transformers 3 Germany SB. This release will complete my transformers set. Couldn't wait any longer. And artworks of this SB is simply breathtaking.

I am absolutely excited for this release. If this is embossed this. It will be the ideal steel I was hoping for since I started collecting. Transformers FS was at the top of my wants list and I had two options lined up to get it for a reasonable price considering it is a grail. But now this is here I wont have to worry because I feel this looks better w/o the blu banner and it completes the set perfectly!

As far a the re-release issue, I totally understand some of the dissapointment and think its unfair to say it because re-sell value will fall. I highly doubt there are lots of people sitting on a stack of T2 FS looking to sell on ebay so that argument kind of trivial. A lot of people collect to enjoy the chase of getting something rare and when a replica becomes available to the masses its like a punch in the gut.

However if I did have the FS grail in my collection, I would get rid of it and get this one because its the ideal one for me to have. Im not a grail chaser but I understand and respect their psyche and view on steelbooks as collectibles.

I paid $5 for the Wal Mart Big Screen edition (with slip cover). That edition for that price is worth more than the retail price of this steel. Thumbs down!

So this is how it goes...

This re-release will be hated by previous edition owners and long-time collectors, while this will be loved by newcomers and people who missed out on the previous edition.

So basically, the release it great if you can tolerate a straight copycat of the FS-version, but I understand true collectors' anger towards this, but as for myself I'm pretty happy about it cause I don't own the FS-steel and I haven't been in the steelbook-game for that long.

i have the original FS and i dont really mind this one

this doesnt have the blue border, possibly embossed, and the original fs is made with thicker metal, so to me this is different enough

im too lazy to check myself, but are the inside artwork the same for both releases?

Looks like the first one but you will never have the same feeling on have the original one. The new collectors deserves a "look alike" copy for their collection and that's OK. The only angry ones here are those who are living from this hobby. Prepare yourselves from now on you will see more surprises...they'll be back!

I have Transformers ROTF FS (a gem of a steelbook!) and I am not worried about this re release.

This situation is like I Am Legend FS and the Canadian re release. Both look exactly the same except the re release does not have the blue banner. I had the re release for sometime but sold that and bought the original I Am Legend FS which cost 5 times more. I am happy with my IAL FS It is on my shelf of precious steelbooks.

Zavvi can keep on re releasing FS grails but as it has been shown time and time again, the originals will remain grails and sought after. The re releases will languish like Star Trek Zavvi.
