Today's Disney/Touchstone Haul.

Not overly impressed with these, to be honest. I've taken some light intensity photographs to try and show that the horrible Warner UK Premium Collection Range finish (remember the one where you apply light and the image disappears) has resurfaced.

Yeah strange this one, mine arrived today, in hand sometimes i have been thinking nice cool steelbook then i pick it up again to have a look and i think it looks cheap, still glad i have it as i dont own a copy of this movie until now.

If you aint gonna do gloss, do a finish like fast 6 where it still has a nice sheen to it, not these 'powdery' dull finishes which dim the whole artwork.

I prefer matte in most instances but not the ultra weak powdery looking ones like this.

The paint is so thin, you can see all streaky lines down it where it looks like the metal is showing through :(

I like matte printing and think it looks nice. However, I also ordered a copy of the German Tron Legacy steelbook, which I believe is glossy. I had hoped they would match but this will still be great. Technically, it's the same as my Star Trek Zavvi (glossy) and Star Trek Into Darkness ES (matte).

Zavvi seem to be killing Steelbook finishes in matte. I'm getting sick of it. It's getting to the point where it hurts my eyes, it make images dark and almost blurry if you get what I mean.

Yes let's blame Zavvi. In case you haven't noticed there has been a distinct lack of Steelbooks with glossy finishes for some time. I think I can count on one hand the number of Steelbooks with glossy finishes so far this year in the UK.
