Hi All, I've renamed this thread, to allow anyone to post "fake" or "suspect" retailer or Ebay listings, so anyone can discuss/be warned. It allows traders to protect each other/discuss various listings that may or may not be authentic, officially supported Steelbook releases. -Digitalbabe.

Was this an official steelbook or was this a FAKE ????

Real pics of the Fnac lenticualr BD from Fnac

No Dutch subs just French ones. And not a steel just an amaray with a great slipcover.

Hope it helps other people not to be faked.

The seller seems to have copied and pasted images and descriptions from all over the place on his other listings...The feedback is OK. It looks like a good one but...

Looks like the real deal to me but you need to be doubly sure with requests for lots of pictures that can be identified with the seller.

As for Iron Man lenticular slip, I don't think there was ever one released except for the lenticular stick-on of the Target exclusive release of Iron Man 2 metalpak. That is not a slip cover though. Good luck!

Fake or self made steelbooks found on ebay or other forums

I was reading the OMG thread and found some post about fake/self made steelbooks which ebay sellers try to sell.They often hope to increse the value with adding some kind of sticker or slips...

I think these listings dont come up very often but if they appear this thread could become really funny...

please always include the picture of the ebay auction to your post not the link only cause the auctions will be deleted after some time

i start with a "self made" T4 FNAC recently uploaded on ebay:

Another fake...uploaded by Wootball a few months ago.He wrote he found it in a local store.

it looks like a selfmade stickerbook and if you compare it with an original LGB the differences are easily visible

thats funny, i bought this for £60 buy it now, its a sealed hmv captain america with a bit of card stuck on the outside, bargain i thought, usually £100
