Hi All, I've renamed this thread, to allow anyone to post "fake" or "suspect" retailer or Ebay listings, so anyone can discuss/be warned. It allows traders to protect each other/discuss various listings that may or may not be authentic, officially supported Steelbook releases. -Digitalbabe.

From Lenocheck:
If any of you guys out there noticed a signed copy of Machete just sold on Ebay for over 200 dollars.
Was this an official steelbook or was this a FAKE ????
Would be interesting to read some of your opinions......as I thought it wasnt released yet.

Something not right here. Reshrink is obvious, and I'm pretty sure I've never seen these particular combinations of slip and steel. (Correct me if I'm wrong...)

The batman begins one is definitely legit (though as you said, that copy is clearly re-shrink wrapped), I have a copy of it too:

I had no idea it was rare though if that is the case. Another seller's auction says: "Has a couple manufacture defect scratches that most of these were destroyed, but I had my Korean contact ship them so there are only a 100 or less of these that ever made it in other peoples hands!!! Very collectable!!!"

I think these are legit guys, I had these. They do look like re-wraps though. The Batman Begins had a 300 print run and was then re-released. I know there were some that were damaged but whether there was exactly 50 left is just a guess IMO.

It's how to tell the difference between the limited first run, and the widely available 2nd run. Anyone any ideas ?
First run most were damaged (~100 copies). Second 'widely available' run (~200 copies) wasn't based on what Choi said, he's the only one that ever checked with the distributor by the looks of things.
Unless I just happened by chance to get an undamaged first print run copy, based on the barcode of the damaged one I saw for sale, they both have the same one so it's not possible to tell that way.

@Truthsteel
How exactly did this go down?! Curious. Paypal should be able to take care of this. (You have a 180 days window for claims)
