I guess it is important to let everyone know that the V for Vendetta Steelbook got a rerelease. Sadly the 2nd Edition has NO interior artwork anymore (as confirmed by ninth here: https://www.hidefninja.com/community/threads/31365/&page=3 post #38). So the New Canada Release is identical to the US Version. The only way to know if you have the First release with Interor Artwork or the second release is the Spine of the Steelbook, since it is different.

Here is a picture I made from the two Version
v1st2nd.jpg

So everyone that still wants to buy this Steelbook, should be extra carefull. Amazon.ca for example has created no new listing yet but will ship the New Version if you order.

I just looked at the spine of my version, that I bought a month ago, from a chap from Greece (Ebay). I have the the one from the first wave. So that one must have inner-art. I find it a really nice steel.

If you haven't It mean; that you have the second version. To bad that they haven't got that though. Would this be the same with all the new releases from the states, such as the Matrix Steelbook, Braveheart etc. Normally I don't buy American of Canadian Steels, but some do have Dutch subs and are region free (V For Vendetta, Full Metal Jacket, Futureshop release). The next one on the list is The Matrix (first wave), that seems to have no Blue banner on top such as the second release. Or am I wrong, and the second wave has none. And does that one have Inner-art ?

Great, just got this in today from Amazon.ca and was shocked to find no inner art. Wish I would have known

Yeah sounds like you bought the re-release and not this one. The inner artwork on this is excellent so I'd recommend ditching the one you've got and getting this.

Is the UPC the same for both versions?

Good Question.... UPC for the Second Release is: 883929167272

Can someone please post the UPC for the First release? Hopefully they are different.

Really, best way to tell the difference, without having the opportunity to see both at the same time.... is that on the second release, the Blu-ray logo goes the same direction as the title on the spine. On the first release, the logo is upright and the title reads down the spine. So if the Blu-ray logo and title read in different directions on the spine, you're good.

Obviously from the pics the title on the spine is more off-center and closer to the Blu-ray logo in the first release, but if you don't have both to compare at the same time, it might be tough to determine which version it is based just on that.

Always forgot to ever pick this up on Blu Ray. Really would want the first print ideally. But its getting to the point now where i'm tempted to just wait for the JP white release. :scat:

I completly forgot to check that.

Sadly they are exactly the same on the first and second release: 883929167272

The 1st Release has also a larger Warner Logo on the bottom of the Spine, it is hard to see in my picture.

I just received mine and it has no interior artwork. Should have checked this thread before making the purchase.

Anyhow, I picked up The Matrix steelbook at the same time and it has interior artwork. I'm not sure if the rerelease of The Matrix has the interior artwork or I'm just lucky they sent me the first release.

i need 2 re-watch this - i only saw it once and was pretty disapointed as it dint feel like the stark original graphic novel by Alan Moore at all ...plus i was pissed at being mislead with the "From the the producers of the matrix" BS.

..btw, no pics of the steelbook in the whole thread ?
