THIS HAS GOT TO BE A BAD JOKE !!!!
I´ve also recieved my SteelBook in the crappy new cardboard envelope but I was one of the lucky ones (?) with some foam inside... FOAM??
it´s about as thick as double layered toilet paper and isn´t able to add ANY protection AT ALL to ANYTHING..
you really have to wonder what they´ve been smoking at ZAVVI again...
U N B E L I E V A B L E !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I MOST DEFINITELY won´t be placing any new orders for the time being and if I don´t hear anything about a proper solution to this ASAP I´ll start cancelling my other orders as well

It don't work as toilet paper, believe me. Many have tried and many have failed, miserably. Too smooth for one thing. As the late, great Mr Robert Monkhouse once wisely stated, it's not so much wiping your arse, more like spreading butter.

received my second copy today , also in a cardboard mailer but without foam

no noticeable damage (although i don't know what's behind the J-card) so i guess i'm one of the few lucky ones

however if they continue to use cardboard mailers i'll also cancel my preorders

don't wanna think about how much trouble it will be to acquire all four upcoming Indiana Jones steelbooks in mint condition ...

Haven't got my zavvi one yet, but my amazon spain showed up inside a box with no protection. 100% damaged. Even the ones that looked mint sealed were dented behind the slip.

My second copy came today in cardboard envelope and without any foam.Cant see any damage yet.

If zavvi are going to use this packaging from now on, then i wont be ordering anything more from them and will probably cancel my preorders.

It wouldn't be so bad if their customer service team actually gave you something resembling customer service instead of treating you like an imbecile and making you feel like you've been slapped on the face by the time you finish reading their reply. . You have to jump through hoops and wait for weeks before they decide whether or not you can return the trashed merchandise to them .
Unbelievable.
They have everything designed to put as many people off from returning stuff as possible. It's a very clear tactic.

1) Try & return something online and they tell you to take photos and upload them .

2) Wait 48 hours and get a replay stating :-

They can't open the photo so send it to another email address.

3) Make the customer wait another 48 hours and hopefully 50% of them will give up & we won't have to do anything.

By the time they actually agree to let you return the merchandise that they are responsible for damaging, almost 2 weeks have gone by.

The biggest laugh is when you finally get the RMA number, it's accompanied with a little slip warning you to wrap the item securely and make sure it is well protected inside a strong box - pity they didn't take their own patronising advice.

you gotta LOVE that part... :hilarious:
I´ve sent them pictures of a SteelBook that was COMPLETELY TRASHED, it looked like someone drove over it with a tank... even the disc was trashed with pieces of it showing thru the cracks ...
and still I got that GREAT ADVICE to wrap the item securely and make sure it is well protected inside a strong box before sending it back... EEK!

Anybody in the US get theirs yet?

Yes...got mine yesterday....V For Vendetta in the brown thin card envelope without any foam, and Evil Dead 2 in regular white box.

Luckily, mine doesn't look damaged but will open it tonight and check more closely and behind the J-card.

I have more than 25 steelbooks on pre-order with them and if this is confirmed as the new permanent packaging method (hopefully DB or other mods can confirm with Zavvi in a few days), then I will definitely be cancelling most of the orders. It may be a better bet to get these on eBay, sometimes at almost the same cost or even lower than what we pay with day 1 pre-orders.
