I believe the Thai version is usually worth a little less then the Chinese one. I could be wrong though. In terms of artwork aren't they exactly the same?
I tend to see the same thing. Seems like more people want the Chinese one which drives up the price on that one
the reason people tend to go for the Chineese I/P's over the Cheaper Tai versions is generally because the packaging is much better on the CH and allso , I remember a post a saw a while ago when some one compared the Colours Different on a TH version Compared to CH version was kinda dull ?
I personally know this to be True compared to *** Steels V's Thai Steels as I bought Unstoppable TH from Ben and when I put it next to my *** version , It was very dull
hence it was palmed off pretty quickly ?

But yeah, uber rare mint and very tough to find even opened. Sealed ones were selling for over $200 even when some were still on JB HiFi shelves. I'd be guessing for an opened one but I'd think $70-100.
I'd say about $60, but that will go up pretty fast as all the Japan steels released early last year are going OOS and will continue too building up to the Tsunami that is headed our way in early March.

Out of curiosity, what would be the value of a sealed/mint 1408 Germany? I was offered the steel about a month and a half ago for about 65 Euros. Need some help on opinions.

Yeah, got a nice mint sealed copy
But I don't know about open copies. A bit like Sweeny Todd, mint and sealed is hard to find + booklet but an open one is two a penny.
