Whats the value of the Japanese Steelbooks of Batman Begins and The Dark Knight? I think Batman just went out of stock everywhere but I'm not positive, have been looking until recently. Im seeing crazy high ebay prices, but wondering if that just hype and it will die down after a bit. Im just curious to see if they're worth chasing or not.
Even though I personally wouldn't pay $125-$150 for a single steelbook, I would put money on the fact that within time someone will pay that much for the Batman Begin steels that are still on ebay. Especially once the third movie comes out and if they release a third steel to match.
There were a lot more Batman Begins on ebay the other day, but as soon as rumour spread that it had gone OOP, they all sold quickly. Prices varied from AU$60 to AU$105
edit: factoring in some ridiculous postage prices, most of them went for over $100. A couple that sold for $60 & $80 had $40 postage!

Batman Begins Jpn is now OOS and yes it will be expensive to get one. I say it be at least $100. TDK still available from Jpn, works out in the UK delivered to be £45 - £50 before customs. If you get stung by customs it be another £10 on top so it be £55 - £60 lol. The shipping is more then the steelbook itself. Best thing to do is order a whole load of steelz to make up for the shipping, but dont forget the duty/custom fees on top if it as well.
Im in the US and I've never got anything from overseas before. I'm not sure about the duty and customs fees. If I did order yeah I would have to get a few, probably Blade Runner and Matrix or just a few more TDKs to maybe offset my cost to get one to keep. I'm just not sure if its worth it, especially because I'm not going to pay that for Batman Begins. Id even go for the Korean release too as its the same artwork and I believe that was a bit cheaper to get shipped. Sadly I think this may have went out of stock recently so looks like I may have just missed it.
Granted not as nice, but I see regular blu rays with the same art so if I wanted to save a ton of money I could go that way. Not as good as the Steel though. I wonder what the odds are of them hitting another country with the same artwork is. I may have to wait it out.
