Anyone seen these stupid shoes? I think they are completely ridiculous. If you have some, then I'm sorry.

I walked into the gym yesterday and there is a guy there who I see a lot. We were both in the locker room and he's just finished while I'm just getting started. I see him sit down and he's got a pair of these five fingers. He starts to take his "shoe" off and he makes a long, painful sigh.

"That's gonna smart" he says. I look down and there is a blister the size of a nickel on the bottom of his 3rd toe. It had popped and was completely raw as well.

"That's what happens when you work out in a glorified sock" I say. He laughs and reassures me that these "shoes" are made for athletic activity. I check the website and sure enough, they are marketed that way. There is no way in hell I'm going running in a pair of these though, especially after seeing that guys foot yesterday! Have any of you guys seen these ridiculous things? The only thing I'm jealous of is not inventing them, because there seem to be a number of people to have been tricked into this fad.

Definitely stupid looking. However, there has been many scientific studies of like some mayan tribe in mexico who can run faster and longer than any runner in the world. And by so much, like something insane, 20-40 more miles. Its linked back to them always hunting on the run and always going barefoot. barefeet get better landing when you come down.

But in this day and age, for the modern world ... I bet if you step on a small sized rock it will still hurt in those.
