As most of the members know I stick to the Asian Exclusives as I prefer what they offer.
But having said that and with regards to the Steelbook for WALL E @paulboland is right. If the Zavvi version is full gloss, and I'm going on the merits of the steel alone it does 100% have every chance to best the BF steel....IMO
I will wait and see...:watch:
No rose tinted glasses, (or should that be Blufans?) here when looking at the finish....

I'm looking forward to Zavvi releasing steelbooks that are better than Blufans.

HMV and Play released beautiful, quality releases, and they weren't locked to Region B, with ugly artwork, ugly slips, and the world enjoyed them.

Show your support for the Zavvi gang that can't stand to see people get excited with Asian releases and snatch up some "Snatch".
HMV/Play/Zavvi are Retailers
None of them ever made any steelbooks

All of the Zavvi/HMV/Play steelbooks are from the Film Studios
The Film Studios pick the Artwork and Finish and get scanavo to manufacture the steelbook which is then sold on general release or offered as an exclusive to a retailer
A very small number of releases did a UK retailer had a say in the artwork and finish as these were one were they approached the film studio to do a release and not always approved by a film studio to happen and when they did approve a release the film studio the artwork and finish they had final say as what was used
95% of steelbooks in the UK were decided by the film studio for a release not the retailer

The film studios are the ones who decided to bring out lots of steelbooks in last 2 years
2015 will see lots more happen some will be on general sale or offered as exclusives to a retailers
Zavvi had the lead in this area as they have contracts with film studios for a certain number of releases and the rest will be on general release or exclusive with HMV/AMAZON ETC

I like them both, yes the steenbok itself is not on a par with FS one which remains to be the king of Steels for Wall-E IMHO but the overall package is neat and I totally dig the Chinese writings on the slips, finally BF listened and really hope they stick to that for their forthcoming titles... it's what really makes their releases stand out after all, well for me at least :p

I do agree with you on packaging the Asian releases offer better in terms of packaging be it a Full Slip or Lenticular and Booklet/Artcards
But its very often the steelbook itself can be the same as other countries just not include the exclusive packaging

I purchase steelbooks from Kimchidvd/Novamedia/Plain Archive/Blufans
I like the attention to detail to the packaging but sometimes the steelbook is the same or its different artwork

The UK Retailers just give you the Steelbook itself

The Zavvi Disney Steelbook are very good
What I would like to see is the likes of Zavvi etc in the UK is do similar attention to the packaging as in Full Slip/Lenticulars/Artcards

Its is very possible that Wall-e from Zavvi will have the better looking steelbook but it wont have the attention to detail of a Full Slip
Its possible we might see from Disney UK see lenticular be provided with future Steelbook releases as they have started to do so with the Marvel Avengers Assemble Steelbook

The packaging of Blufans Wall-e will win over Zavvi release but the steelbook itself that might not be the case

We get to choose as collectors and lot of us already purchase various releases from around the world already

I have Ordered and Paid for Blufans Wall-e Lenticular
I will also be Pre-Ordering the Zavvi steelbook
So as a collector I will have both versions

Let's stay on topic please folks. Feel free to start separate threads if you'd like to continue this discussion. Thanks.

Hard to tell here...will make my mind up when I have both editions in hand. Had the same issue with IM, but it was easy when I had both at home. The 1/3 slip wins easy

According to the group buy on the other forum it says region free, but on the packaging it says A+C, anybody know which is true?
Disc 1 Film is Region A/C Locked
Disc 2 Bonus Disc not 100% on yet its possible that's region free or Region A locked

Wall-e worldwide film disc is region locked to relevant region code with all releases and always was

So the group buy hoster lied about the region code? Because now I won't be able to play this movie and have to buy an extra amaray for just the disc
