the photos themselves seem terrible for me, hard to tell my opinion based on those poor photos, will have to wait, but from what i see it doesn't look great at all, i really hope it will be best than wah it seems to be for me..

If I'm being honest, the photo's do give the impression that the loss of a gloss finish does spoil the effect quite a lot. The colours could have really popped and in the pics it looks fairly dull, a shame because this steel deserved to be perfect.

On the flip side, I do still prefer the artwork to the FS or the Character Face series releases. As it stands it's the best Wall-e steelbook to me so I'm still happy to get it (though the region locked disc is a shame and something of a mistake). There is however still a real chance to Zavvi to outdo them if they get the art right I feel.

All 2D Wall-E and Ratatouille releases had some Region locking enforced. So it is no surprise that the disc is Region locked. Live with it or spend the cost of 3 or 4 Wall-Es on a Region free player.

The only thing good about this release are the accessories

3 Disc holders inside but its only a 2 Disc release
Why did they do that

I suppose you could put the 3D Disc in there when that eventually gets released but we probably will see another steelbook release happen when the 3D version get released

Its ok looking but the back slip that's numbered could have done with less Chinese Text as its a bit overpowering as most of us will be keeping the back slip on the lenticular slip it showing its numbered and by doing so will not see the artwork underneath

The back with the back slip removed is ok and would have looked better if it had a numbered card or just a numbered sticker and not the all over the place Chinese text of the jcard slip that hides the back artwork

I will still most likely like it when I get delivery but it could have been better

This is a massive let down by Blufans - a flat matte finish like that would be destroyed if it was released in Europe, and rightly so. And an empty disc tray inside, plus no advance warning on region locking? Salt in the wounds.

Blufans did not have any other choice and did the best they can for us. However, nobody is forced to buy it. You can still cancel within 3 days, according to Kevins comment. I like the release as is and will definitely keep my order.

The matte finish on this is just awful... Another disappointment from Blufans... Glad I did not go for this now...
If this was a Zavvi release they would be getting lynched by now...

Gloss with this artwork would have been glorious...

and the fact/point is that it was to be a glossy steel in the firt place, this is(was)for many buyers a big part of the decision to take it..

The region lock is easily side stepped, I'm taking care of that (and filling that third disc slot) via all those Disney Zavvi release Disney Movie Reward points coming into use

Lol I hope the extra disc holder was intentional for the 3D disc, but it's still stupid because who is going to buy just the 3D disc? You're going to be left with an empty spot in the 3D case.

the finish is important(not necessarly the main factor, even though it has to be a specific type like" full glossy"for instance for some and that 's perfectly their right..) for many people buying steels.
that't just the way it is, you don't neeed to be judgmental about it.. (i don't ven see the logical view between those, anyways..)

for me the accessories/goodies with the steelbook(slipcovers, cards etc) are useless, i couldn't care about them less(i sell them), and yet i would never say something like this..
