I think also that it was a smart move on Manta's part to basically "float" the idea to get an idea as to whether this would be well received and now they probably have their answer.

This is something that I have felt for the last decade or so that maybe movie studios should do before they decide to greenlight a movie with a $200 million budget ($200 million used as an example...I'm not saying all movies that bomb hard have that kind of budget or that my examples even had a budget that large).
Float the idea to the public. Like hey "would enough people be interested in seeing a big budget drab looking movie called "Jack The Giant Slayer?"

For a lot of movies people decide as soon as they are announced that they won't be interested in seeing such a film no matter how much is spent on it.
This is actually something FilmArena do a lot of on Facebook... they ask whether people would be interested in a particular FAC. Funny thing is though, I've noticed the feedback about those titles receiving the FAC treatment often seems to be very different on forums... I guess we're more outspoken here lol.

As for the movie studios doing it with their films... well, it worked for Deadpool! ;)

So do people on Facebook just automatically say "Yes! Yes that's a great idea?" to every suggestion?

I didn't know that about Deadpool. I believe I heard that Ryan Reynolds was always trying to drum up support for the project. But I'm guessing the studio was smart about it and didn't throw a massive budget at it which is why the took the risk. Good for them!

Granted I don't go out of my way to actually check each time, but from what I've seen the overall reaction tends to be something along those lines lol.

As for Deadpool... someone on the inside apparently leaked the test footage online, which received lots of praise from fans and is what led the studio to giving a full movie the green light -- or at least that's what I heard anyway.

It's true. One of those "oops..." leaks. The footage was great and went viral very fast. From that moment on, the marketing for Deadpool has been fantastic. They know their audience well.

Yes, the Slips look better than the steelbook. I really love the trilogy so i need/want this. But Manta or Filmarena? The steelbook from FA looks very good....

Why are they doing pre orders 3 days before Christmas

Find that a bit silly
