A new wave of Steelbooks coming to the USA, due for release on May 7th 2013-appearing at multiple retailers including Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, Barnes and Noble, in-store at Costco, etc.

Small update:

actually about 3-4 titles will have inside art.

Face-Off, Braveheart and Gladiator are Paramount titles bought by Warner but will be Region A locked especially the last 2.

Braveheart and Gladiator will be 100% Region locked if Warner is going to re-purpose the existing discs. I would be surprised if Warner gets the disc Region free and if Fox / Universal would allow that.

The source is quite reliable and it could happen, but I am guessing there will be no inside artwork.

I will be very disappointed if there is no inside artwork! Warner Brothers Canadian Steelbook releases have had great inside artwork to date and I hope they don't start to cut corners in that regard.

I agree with a number of other posters who question the wisdom in re-releasing some of these titles but I would definitely double-dip on the Braveheart and Gladiator. There are a few other new releases in Steelbook form that interest me, the main one being True Grit (1969). Others include Face-Off and Batman Returns.

It's like the people making steelbooks don't know how to stop the bleeding but there is a doctor sitting right next to them and hi-def ninja is the doctor.

Re-releases that aren't from crappy German steelbooks is not the way to go.

Words like exclusive and limited are gimmicks and mean nothing in the steelbook market.
