Warner Bros. Wave - May 7, 2013 (Blu-ray SteelBooks) [USA]

A new wave of Steelbooks coming to the USA, due for release on May 7th 2013-appearing at multiple retailers including Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, Barnes and Noble, in-store at Costco, etc.

Small update:

actually about 3-4 titles will have inside art.

I am sorry to ask (especially if it has been mentioned before), but are these Region free or not? I think I've read somewhere, that Warner usually is, but just to make sure. I am especially interested in Batman Begins and The Dark Knight... if those are Region free or not. Thanks!

Yes, those titles are region free

Luke, I have not spun this one up yet but if it is the same as the previous Director's Cut disc, then it is on the same disk with the film. I will see if I can get to it this weekend and report back here.

I think even non collector are buying this. Sold out in 4 Walmart stores that I went. Managed to get the last Batman begin without dent.

They did this last year at Best Buy just flooding the market and then back to business as usual with a few steelbooks here and there. I'd rather see a steady flow of steelbooks rather than all of a sudden 60 steelbooks that are extremely hard to get and then they are gone before you can get them all (still missing 4 of the WBs from last year and all 4 did get re-released this year).

Why couldn't this be 5 steelbooks at a time spread over 6 months, why the huge dump on the market.

I agree with everything else you said but these are def not extremely hard to get. Theres tons and tons of Walmarts in America. If the ones nearest you are out or dont have stock, you just gotta make that run a few more miles down the highway lol. And if thats not an option, you can sit on your couch and order them from Bestbuy.com, amazon.com or wbshop.

And yes it would be better for us to budget if the releases were spread out over some months but I love going to the store and grabbing everything I want in one sweep.

Maybe he lives in an area like I do. It takes over a half an hour to get to my Walmart, and from there the next one is another 1/2 hour away. Then goes to over an hour for the next one.

That may be the case but as I said you can order online and if push comes to shove, ask a member here to source them for you. My point was to say Warner wave US steels are not "extremely" hard to find.

Nope. I'm fairly certain the only ones that have inside artwork are Watchmen, Batman Begins and The Dark Knight.

I didn't word that very well no these aren't extremely hard to get as there is many walmarts and they are fairly abundant. But they are extremely hard to get unless you are going to fork out $400 all at once. I needed 35 titles counting this wave, the comic book wave and the metal packs. Do you really think in a month these will still be sitting around for me to get? I got 8 last week and plan on getting 3 more on Monday that leaves 24 and at least a month to get them all.
