Think about it, how many versions of Thor are there? 10-12? They all bid over $100. Now, indeed if this is re released, there would be 2 identical versions. Why can't 2 versions of FS Watchmen artwork bid over $100, if 12 versions of Thor can? No ones gonna tell me Thor's a better looking steel than this one.

The difference being that Thor is sold out everywhere and is therefore rising in value on the secondary market. This version of Watchmen will never sell out because they'll print a million of them; there'll always be this cheap $15 version for anyone even considering the FS one.

All this is speculation. Even the final artwork is not confirmed. I don't believe Thor is "rare" whatsoever, so this comparison is not valid.

Plus this will probably be pants like the Best Buy wave was. If it has a matte finish and no inside artwork, then it won't be anywhere near the original release. The quality of the finish on the FS version is probably my favourite of all of the Steelbooks I own

Don't be. They also list the original amaray director's cut as the same, but it isn't locked.

I'm do glad I sold my UK version now. I cancelled amazon pre order as my US buddy said he can pick me up a copy in store so hopefully his store still has a copy on Tuesday (that's if they're already got them out).

I can't see region information on the discs so I guess these would be same discs as US directors cut which is region free

Also, I actually prefer matte finishs over glossy as most if steels released here in UK now are glossy so its nice to have a different finish.

Only two or three from the entire wave have inside art (don't ask me which other ones!), but they should all have clean backs.

Glossy finish really suits this steel. With matte finish for this release as the only difference I don't think it would cause the FS version to go tumbling down in prices yet...

I don't think it will affect the play one too much. They are still going for reasonably low prices at the moment. I think it is the FS version that it might have an impact on.

Play version was never really in there. Just an alternative steel to get apart from paying loads for the FS version.
