He use to be a bit of a pirate in those days and had some crazy double stacked VHS player, that actually looked like it was an accessory for a T-800 :hilarious:

Haha, I had one of those VHS double decker's. I remember seamlessly editing together all three Back to the Future's, only leaving the credits at the start and end. I thought it was great, but looking back now the quality was probably on a par with a Mr Cholmondley-Warner production. :hilarious:

I was also a bit of pirate, until Macrovision ruined the party. Brilliant memories. :D

I think I would have seen The Terminator on video - possibly an ex-rental Beta tape as my Mum ran the Ritz video store and I got first dibs on all the beta tapes, her shop being the sell-thru store when each store respectively went VHS only. I amassed some collection!

Terminator: Judgement Day remains one of my favourite films of all time and I think I saw it at the then quite new multiplex on the edge of Edinburgh, UCI. Ironic because I lived round the corner from the massive (and sadly now defunct) Odeon on Clerk Street which I saw many many brilliant films at. But the UCI and the mega-bowl were big attractions to us then teens!

That cinema closed and was demolished in 2008. Bizarrely they are now planning to open a new multiplex on that exact same plot.

Favourite scenes from Terminator movies.

From The Terminator:

"..a phased plasma rifle in the 40-watt range".

And this juicy selection of potential responses:

From Terminator: Judgement Day (oh soo many to chose from):

John_Connor_with_Sarah_and_T-101.jpg

"Come with me if you wan't to live".

Ok that screencap is just after, but the look of utter terror and disbelief on Sarah's face when her worst nightmare returns is brilliant. The audience has only just learned that the T800 is on "our" side and totally understand her reaction (and Hamilton's acting in the asylum scenes is just brilliant).

The other scene is when the head psychiatrist finally sees the T800 and has to concede that Connors wasn't insane after all.

Great films.

Thanks both for the awesome giveaway Naughtius and in particular this thread which lets us all geek out a bit over such superb films.

So many awesome scenes and artwork for these films. At the moment I'm all over this art, and of course I had to purchase it. It's by artist JP Valderrama.

As to when I first saw them, I really have no idea. All I remember is catching both T1 & T2 on TV when I was an early teen, most likely on ITV late at night. I did see T3 at the cinema though.

Thanks for the giveaway NM, some extremely cool items on offer here.

My best T2 memory is seeing it in the theater four times with my Grandma...yeah I said Grandma! She loved that flick.

The Theater I saw T2 in shut down when the new theater next door to it in Aurora Colorado opened...yes that one.

I was far to young to see the first Terminator in the theater so I've never had the chance to catch it on the big screen but it is the only one of the series that I missed out on.

I remember watching the first half of Terminator 2 on TV, on France 3 at 8:50pm to be accurate, when I was around 12. I especially remember the scenes with the shrink for some reason. But I didn't properly watch the films (and thus start with the first one) until I was 15, on my computer, days before a major exam.

Thanks for the give-away  !

Happe 2nd anniversary David!!! You re still a young lad :)

My friends and I when to see this at the theater. We were a little too young to get into R rated movies at the time but we never had any problem getting in.

We saw it at the Ronnies Theater which has been torn down and a new Ronnies now stands where the old one was.

Epic giveaway NM!

I think I first saw T2 on tv when I was 15 or 16 was hooked ever since.

The scene where the T-1000 walks through the metal bars really blew me way, the visual effects were amazing for the time:

I was 12 or 13 years old when I saw T2...I saw it at a theater that was in our mall in a small town in New York. I have fond memories because it was the first time I was allowed to see an R rated movie by myself....it was a big deal.

Thanks for the giveaway!

Thanks David, I suppose this means you will be looking for an Anniversary wish from me?:hilarious:

Well I was 25 years old when I saw the original Terminator at the Cinema. I actually had to go to the bathroom to puke when he was fixing his arm. Back then I was a ***** to gore.:D Now the bloodier the better. Guess I improve with age.:hilarious:

Yet again, another astounding give away Naughtius!

I saw the original two films on VHS with my dad, but can't remember how old I was, I would guess around 10 to 12 years old. Though I do remember seeing the T2 making of documentary on TV (back in the before these would be added as DVD extras)

Here's some screen shots of The terminator 2 gameboy game:
main.png

I was obsessed with completing it back in the day, as I found it to be quite hard. It took me weeks, persevering through the levels to finally face off against the T-1000 in the steel mill.
I was so relieved when I finally figured out the aim was to keep blasting him with the a shotgun until he fell off the ledge into the molten steel, before that I thought he must have been invincible as he didn't have a health bar, and seemed to only stagger back when shot.

Ah, those were the days! :D

The ending of the first movie was pretty epic, although cheesy. credit to moviedeaths.com
