I got both versions and they're still sealed. I'm happy with the overall design so I don't have any complaints as Blufans puts out top notch steels.

Keeping them sealed is the best option as i can 99% guarantee that if they are opened they will have issues and you will be hugely disappointed.

I have bought 5 copies of this and had issues with all of them and subsequently had to sell at a massive loss to collectors who are not as fussy as me (OCD)

Quality control was awful with this release!

All I know on practically any steelbook that is matte is almost guaranteed to be scratched if its not kept plastic. I don't think the same can be said for the glossy ones though.

Think our experience differs. I've never scratched a metallic steelbook by running my fingers over its surface. But the moment I lightly did that on a gloss steelbook, I got fine line scratches. I'm talking about smooth metallic finish like Matrix CA, not dull matte ones like Star Trek Into Darkness.

I have had a lot of steelbooks that are glossy that have a perfect finish with no scratches. It never used to be an issue with glossy Steelbooks so I'm not sure why it is now. Jack Reacher from Paramount had a black glossy finish and I don't remember too many complaints with that one. I will always prefer a gloss finish to a matte one. Of course this Wreck it Ralph steelbook is unacceptable, there's minor marks and then there's seriously damaged which a lot of these are.

Yes, I do agree there's an issue with WIR. Certainly there are many gloss steelbooks that are perfect. But if you ever run your fingers over them, you might want to check if there are fine line scratches left behind. It did happen to me.

There might be some confusion about what I meant by metallic. It's not the dull matte finish like what we get on Oblivion and Star Trek into Darkness. Definitely gloss is better than those. By metallic, I meant the shimmering smooth reflective finish that we get on the Canadian releases such as Troy 1st release, Last Samurai, Matrix, Kil Bill and others. An eg:

It looks like gloss but it's not.
