New back is AMAZING! Great to know that we have influence over the outcome of certain steelbooks :) If this could be offered with a 1/4 slipcover so we could enjoy the back while sealed. That would be amaze balls!

 WOW can’t believe it.

Being the guy who first wanted and suggested the back art we’re getting I feel Immensely proud.

(here’s that original post from pg 11 if you don’t remember)

I hate the back...doesn't flow.

i'd liike something like this.

I say we bombard zavvi with messages telling them to swap the back art for this...but i'm biased. :naughty:
this will now take pride of place amongst my collection once I get it. Though I played a small part in getting the change of artwork this film deserved, this steelbook will always be special as when I see it, I’ll see it as my steelbook because the back is like that because of me. (with support from all those who wanted the change)

considering all the copies zavvi will sell because of this change of artwork maybe zavvi can send a complimentary copy my way ;)

But this is a major victory for all us HDN folk, Not only did we got the art changed, but we got it the way we wanted it(most of us at least :p) hopefully this is the start of us having more influence on the look of steelbooks.

So get your orders in folks, cause this is a piece of HDN history.

post #198 repost:

gotta say... with that back... I actually wouldn't change anything about the front, but then there really should be a different pic on the inside to include more than just Ralph looking over Sugar Rush. Otherwise the entire steel would be nearly void of all the supporting characters, and that's not cool.

Maybe this inside?

If it was me that originally posted the picture then I wouldn't shut up about it throughout my life. I seriously think this is going to be my favourite steelbook.

Well done boba

my type of art is "realism" its always what i've preferred and it was always something i worked on when i was in school.the 2 types i stay away from are "abstract" and
"Primitivism"-Primitive Art looks like art that is done by a child. Usually the picture is painted very simply, and the subjects are "flat", or two-dimensional.

i havent seen the movie but from what i hear, this style flows with this movie.
also, now the back coincides with the front.it makes perfect sense but just isn't for me.
so its a pass for sure.i just have to hope the blufans version gets straightened out for my sake. otherwise,i wont have a copy to keep...

BIG SHOUT OUT TO bobafettish66 for letting me see the design, ever since I saw it I've been trying to get this back art changed and it actually happened!! I already pre-ordered my copies of this, I can not wait to get this in hand!! :scat::oohyeah:

Boba I think a complimentary copy is the least Zavvi could do for you. I placed an order for a second copy as soon as Wreck confirmed the change.
Thanks to your mock-up, we have ended up with a glorious 8-bit beauty.

Now why don't we try and get those windows de-bossed as well. :naughty:

:oohyeah: :oohyeah: I was actually about to cancel this, but now its just... BEAUTIFUL! Thanks to everyone involved who got it changed, and thanks to Zavvi for listening to the fans! Hopefully they can continue this relationship with HDN and let us have more input, because at the end of the day, its US buying their steelbooks!!! :D Good job guys!!

It's impressive Disney decided it's okay to change the art, and the entire changing process was done in 18 days.

That's pretty fast for getting a big studio like Disney on board with a forum-based idea! EEK!

Thank you Zavvi for going to Disney with this, and thank you Boba for suggesting it — you should be rewarded for that, like a huge poster of that backart signed by John C. Reilly (Ralph) and Jack McBrayer (Felix) as a courtesy gift ;).

It's hard/awesome to believe HDN has so much influence, that's pretty cool and maybe it will encourage people here to complain about Zavvi for a change :D. Talented Ninjas should do the same for both the Thor and Captain America's backarts (the current ones are shockingly bad), it's also Disney after all.

I'm waiting for my Wreck-It Ralph BluFans Exclusive version. I wasn't going to order this Zavvi version.

That change has made me change my mind, so I pulled the trigger and ordered it after all — ordered Despicable Me 2 in the process, €27.59 is too expensive but fµck it, it looks good too and I'll never watch it in 3D anyway.

Therefore, Wreck-It Ralph is my first steelbook double-dipping ever, but that backart is worth it .
