If this ends up as dull as the other matte releases it will spell doom to zavvi. I would expect a mass cancellations on other orders and then they would be taking a huge loss in order to get rid of their other upcoming releases. It will send a message that us collectors have had it. I have already cancelled a bunch of orders simply because I know I will get them cheaper at a later date. No point on pre ordering anymore except for a few.

Agreed Chip. I've already cancelled Fantasia, as there will be several re-stocks, with it not even OOS yet.

I'm going to be judging things based how WIR turns out and what others have to say about Fantasia. If they are both below par, then I'll certainly be cancelling the rest of my Disney pre-orders. I could use the cash saved to buy a couple of the earlier, far superior Best Buy/Future Shop editions.

If this was really the case, then Zavvi would have been doomed months ago. We all continue to pre-order in the hope that the gloss machine will be fixed :emb:

Aside from a few releases here and there, we are still mainly getting matte finishes. This is not a Zavvi problem, it is a Worldwide problem. Even Blufans seem to be favouring matte finishes. :(

Cancelled fantasia a week ago too as it will drop in price and I'm curious to see how it turns out. If this is matte and fantasia is gloss, I don't know what I'll do with the other orders. Now this is sold out, theres no need to for zavvi to spend the extra cost to make it nice though :(

by the way, weren't all the other steelbooks of the Disney collection glossy and embossed so far? Why then change the procedure on this? :dunno:
embossed? Yeah. Glossy?no. See little mermaid and jungle book for reference. Mind you disney did make aladdin and who framed roger rabbit lets not forget

If the ratio to good and bad was 50:50 I'd be fine, it's the fact the bad ones have come recently that I don't think this will turn out well. Fingers crossed I'm wrong

1. Obtain a lenticular slipcover or card.

2.

3. Scissors.

:)

The trickiest part is getting the lenti off of the card without damaging it. Then you will need to scrub it down with a bunch of goo gone to get the adhesive residue off of it before putting it on the magnetic backing.

Pre-ordered. I even had the cheek to send Zavvi a message regarding the discount code X) that was mentioned on here right at the start of the thread. Doubt they'll do it, but seeing as how this is £10 on top for a steelbook than the amaray release, it was worth a shot.

Another response from zavvi, after I tried to convince them that a glossy steelbook is so much desired by most collectors:
"Hello Ian,

I have passed your feedback to our buying team who deal with the steel-books from our side, however I am unable to guarantee that this will be changed at this time.

Kind regards,

Chris"

There is hope!

Hi, I have this on pre-order but am wondering if it's worth it? I've never seen the film and heard mixed reviews - should I keep or cancel my pre-order?! Advice is appreciated :)

depends on your personal taste but if you like other disney / pixar movies and maybe also like videogames you don't go wrong with it.

Thanks for the response, I do love a Disney / Pixar movie so,will keep it I guess! If I'm not a huge fan I could always sell it on to someone who, wasn't fortunate enough to get a copy! :(
