From Twice News:

Redmond, Wash. — The results are in for the first 24 hours since the Nov. 22 release of Microsoft’s Xbox One gaming console, and it appears to be a tie.

The computer software giant said sales of the Xbox One surpassed 1 million units in less than 24 hours across 13 countries. The tally matched results for North America from the first 24 hours of Sony’s PlayStation 4, which launched on Nov. 15.

The two companies are vying for top share in recently sluggish video game market, which both hope to revive. According to The NPD Group, the console market shrank 32 percent to $13.3 billion from 2008 to 2012.

Both machines stress more power, upgraded graphics and expansive entertainment options beyond gaming.

The Xbox One sells for $499, while the PlayStation 4 is offered for $399.

Both results were record-breakers for each company and set the pace for what retailers hope will be a lucrative 2013 holiday season.

The third version of Microsoft's popular console franchise, and the first new design to appear in eight years, has already sold out in most retailers, the company said.

In a statement, Microsoft it is “working to replenish stock as fast as possible to meet the unprecedented demand from our customers.”

The system launched with 22 gaming titles and offered a host of home entertainment functions in addition to gaming.

Among the top draws to the Xbox One platform are a range of popular exclusive game franchises including Forza Motorsport 5 and Halo.

The system includes a re-worked Kinect motion control system, attaches to cable TV to display programming in onscreen guide, and offers voice-control applications.

Take it back, PS4lyfe!
That damn Killer Instinct is going to make me buy an Xbox One eventually though. I really hope both consoles comes out with a white version soon because I really want to switch over to white plastic this generation.

Kinda regretting selling my Xbox One, while I sit here and wait for a replacement PS4 for over a week from Sony with the blinking blue light of death. Figures since I never got the circle of death from Xbox 360.

I can't take it any longer looking at my unopened PS4 games sitting on my coffee table.

lol I read everywhere that it was the metallic piece on the HDMI, I double checked the metal piece when I first got it and made sure it was pushed all the way in. No problems on my end. Sucks you have to sit there with no console though.

I thought that was Issue #1? The blue light was #2 and red light was issue #3?
