Your Top 5 Game Characters

Title says it all... who are your top 5 favourite game characters?

They can be from any game, on any console/platform, from any year. As long as they're an actual in-game character, then it counts! So robots, aliens, animals etc are allowed, but they have to have played a fairly major role in the game. So please, no "random cat I owned in The Sims" or anything daft like that.

My Top 5:

5. Agent 47 (Hitman)
For his badassery and interesting backstory.

4. Lara Croft (Tomb Raider)
For being not only one of the most iconic female characters ever, but one of the most iconic characters full stop!

3. Niko Bellic (GTA:IV)
For his witty sense of humour and genius comebacks.

2. Abe (Oddworld)
For farting at the press of a button... it's as simple as that. Oh, and his quirky voice is wicked too.

1. John Marston (Red Dead Redemption) & Scott Shelby (Heavy Rain)
For being cool, kick-ass guys with a heart. No game storyline has ever gripped and shocked me as much as these two characters'.​

So, yeah... I kind of cheated on the last one. But I figured I liked them both for pretty much the same reasons, so that makes it alright as far as I'm concerned.

5: Duke Nukem

Iconic character... Superb 90s PC action title. His one liners are superb.
Ignore Forever...

4: Master Chief/Cortana/Guilty Spark

All 3 of these made the Halo franchise for me..Halo 4 was superb due to the feelings portrayed between Chief and Cortana.

Guilty Spark in CE was HILARIOUS!

3: Akuma

So unbelievably amazing I plan to one day get a tattoo of him. Amazing artistic style to his attacks.

2: Sephiroth

BY FAR THE COOLEST BAD DUDE EVER!

Words can't describe how he made me feel the first time I played FF7.. The reactor scene was superb.

1: Gordon Freeman

Surprised nobody had mentioned the ginger crowbar wielding scientist from arguably the best gaming franchise as far as meta critic scores go.

This game changed the way all FPS games were made..

One I have to mention:

GlaDOS.

How awesome was she!!!!

I think my top 5 may have actually changed... Joel and Ellie from 'The Last of Us' would probably be contender for the #1 spot now!

no5 is a toss up between these folks

no 4 sonic the hedgehog (would be higher but i hate modern sonic)
