I apologize, I got carried away :p.

The steelbook is a beaut though, despite all of the political ugliness involved ;)!

But back on topic, this Steelbook's embossing/debossing looks great!

Mod. Edit: Since it has been stated above, this post was edited to keep this thread on topic and keep other topics off the main steelbook thread. Thank you for your participation and cooperation.

i'm not sure if anyone agrees, but i felt that one of the strongest suits the movie had was the fact that it pretty much stayed away from politics and mainly focused on the mission at hand.

P.S.
surprisingly.there's only 39 active listings on ebay currently.this must be dwindling down already.
i thought maybe it might be in the hundreds since this has gotten a lot of attention.

Folks: A final reminder - keep the main steelbook thread focused on the steelbook. Since Drum's post, several had to be edited and deleted. Please remember that there are members subscribed to get notifications on posting in any thread and out of respect to them and others reading the thread, keep on topic.

Thank you all for your generous, enthusiastic participation and patient cooperation in making HDN forums the best place for the world's collectible community.

Totally agreed with your first point. In regards to the dwindling listings, perhaps the low print run has something to do with it and that this time around (together with the Les Miz steelbook), many more movie fans are buying the steelbook instead of the amaray. I personally had convinced 4 "converts" in one store to buy the steelbook over the amaray :scat:

If this is the strategy going forward for US steelbooks (exclusive art, new release, low print runs, nationwide retailer), then I cannot wait to see what else is in store. Times for US steelbook collectors are looking bright ahead.

What is the print run on this then? I haven't seen numbers mentioned (forgive me if they have been), it would be interesting to know.

Its being withheld for one reason or another.

I'll drink to that my friend.

My guess is 10,000 or 15,000. Probably closer to 15k.

I honestly believe at MAX its 10,000 and maybe lowest 8,000 .... Maybe 1000-1500 online because it was down so fast.but It looks like we may never know :( Only because I figured at least 8 per store... And I know several stores got only 4 (these were much smaller stores)

Thanks anyways wreck!:scat:

I say 10,000

The above are some good guesses, I think.

Hi. I'm new to this forum & "steelbooks". Have a love for cinematography since high school, way long before many here existed? But never too old to appreciate certain things in life?
I ordered 2 copies of the ZDT Steelbook, one each at nearby stores around 1:30am on 3/19. Had called to see just how many each store was getting in, one 7, the other 9. And told pre-orders had to be filled first??
Turns out I got both, lucky for me. But a question to those more knowledgeable than I.
Should I keep my extra as something to trade with down the road or sell it for a fair price? Like a stupid question, the latter.
Jumped on Target's Django Unchained Steelbook pre-order & cancelled my BB pre-order. Am waiting for The Matrix 10th Anniversary Digibook coming any day.
Hope I didn't hijack this thread & wanted to post to say hello!
Jeff
Sorry, not meant as a sales pitch. An honest question & might end up returning the steelbook so my wife is happy. Didn't understand why I ordered twice, but told her both stores were out when I went for pickup!
1 Steelbook (2?), 1 Digibook, about 20 BRs

Welcome Jeff
Keep it, you should be able to trade for some other great Steelbook you want in the Future... from somewhere in the World :scat:

It's really up to you. I usually just keep the extra and use it to help other members as they have helped me many times. HDN is a great community. If you are set on reselling this is a tought call because it is a world wide exclusive for now so the price is rising but may fall if there are other releases.

Welcome Jeff! I understand its a great steelbook and all expectations are for this to get harder and harder to find going forward. If that turns out to be true, you should be able to find a great trade in the future mate :)

Congrats on your new hobby too:D

Thanks to all for the welcome & answers. Selling it WOULD be to a HDN member for little or no profit. I've been active in guitar forums & "one hand washes the other"!
I have to wait till my wife gets my CC statement. A few other BRs, finally my fav, The Deer Hunter. Have seen it over 20 times & still blows me away!!

Is it me or is there more interest in the speculative value of each new release rather than the release itself?

How many were made, is it OOS,OOP yet, what's it selling for on eBay and how many are on eBay, etc.

Also, there needs to be a new section, "How many did you buy and why?"

It's quite easy to forget what the topic is.

This forum is becoming like the other one, where some newer members are coming from and bringing their poor people skills with them.

The core of this forum left there and founded a great place here, with a refreshing bit of fresh air. Air that has become a bit stale lately.

Make sure you watch out for paint chips on the upper right next to the price sticker. I see some people on ebay are moving the price sticker further to the side than normal to cover up the area where the paint chips are.
