You can't teel which number you'll get even if you know that order #5319 is the first order.
1. Between the international orders are still the Korean orders.
2. You don't know which version the guys before you bought.
3. There can still be cancellations before shipping.
4. The guys before you could have bought up to 2 editions.

I got this mail when I asked for my number:
But we can make an estimate what our number might be by knowing the first one.

not even close. you just don't know how many korean orders were placed between #5319, and lets's say #5400. it could be 10, it could be 100. ;) even more, you also cannot say HOW MANY copies each one ordered and which version. for example, numbers on my "one-click" of "the master" differ from 0069 (1/4 slip), to 0104 (lenti) to 0208 (fullslip).
i think i was within the first 100 orders there as well. . .

Pet Slips are almost like new tech, because it is so new to the steelbook hobby, then you have the very first lenticular 1/4 slip. So when you are talking about the third option involving a paper slip, as far as rarity is concerned, that is going to be the last option. I understand that some people prefer to collect paper slips, mostly for uniformity in their collection, but it's like old tech, its not exciting anymore when you have these other options available to us.
There are 2000 copies of the PET slip and 1800 copies of the paper slip. The paper slip is rarer.

Last call for USA folks to join the group buy!

AS of this update, 4 FULL PET slips remain, 3 1/4 slip remain, and 12 paper slips remain. Along with 5 keep case!

Yeah, it only really comes down to luck (and speed of going back and forth) if you're not part of the first batch of people that added it to your cart. So, it's a combination of luck/speed after that.

That's most likely correct
I added my Quadruple Pack to the cart at exactly 1.00 am UK time and with speed got to checkout it was only finishing the PayPal payment that took the longest part
My order was completed at 1.01.16 am
The time I got to finish checkout process before PayPal process started was probably about at max 30 seconds

Yeah, and it doesn't really matter how long it takes for you to checkout. Once you have it in your cart, it doesn't matter how long it takes for you to check out. Within reason most likely, but I've never seen a countdown saying you have a certain amount of time to checkout.

I'm curious what kind of system you'd suggest these companies use that wouldn't be as flawed?

IMO it's a custom ground up implementation and a "pie in the sky" idea. Closest thing I've seen to timed checkouts and limits is tickemaster, but they've developed that over a long time and on the back of high fees to the consumer.

That's not a system a regular retailer can implement or wants to pay for - and most of their traffic comes during a timed release - where something like server that HDN is on has to be beefier to keep up with the consistent daily traffic.

It's the least popular choice, most people seem to prefer the PET slips. I did think it would be sold out by now but I'm sure it will do eventually.

Yeah, figured as much, just don't understand why all other versions sold out in nano-seconds yet the paper slip remains available.

No bother, just wondered...

I think if it had just been the full slip available then that would have sold out a lot faster. It's a nice looking edition but I think the other PET editions are nicer. I'm sure some people prefer the paper slip though.

Plain Archive just posted this on Facebook

To our international customers,

Plain Archive is a small independent company with just two full-time employees. We do almost everything ourselves —— film selection, package design, blu-ray authoring, online store management, shipment preparation, customer service, and more. After two years of operation, we’ve finally escaped working from home, and only recently moved to a small dedicated office.

We’re not saying that it’s acceptable to act like amateurs because of our scale. ...We’ve always wanted people to judge us based purely on the quality of our products. A lot of effort has gone into our products, shipments, and customer service in order to avoid certain assumptions that can be made about a startup like us.

Plain Archive deals with Blu-ray collectors all over the world, and not one customer is easy to please because of their extremely high standards. But we’ve always listened. And we’ve also received some absurd requests, but we tried our best to be polite and helpful.

Our team pours everything into creating products that are hopefully worth your money. A large majority of our existing customers purchase our products because they recognize our effort. Some even order multiple copies of the same edition.

We respect our customers, and we feel your respect coming at our direction. Unfortunately, there’s a small number of individuals who doesn’t respect us back. We’ve received angry emails with profanity, and in some cases — threats.

Our Zero Dark Thirty editions have caused a record traffic with unprecedented demand. It’s unfortunate, but some will succeed and some will miss out. We understand your frustration.

If there’s anything we need to improve upon, please give us your feedback. But we do not want to suffer from reading emails that cross the line.

We’d like to end by saying thank you for the support you’ve shown us with the pre-order of Zero Dark Thirty. We have some exciting new products coming this year. Please stay tuned.

Thank you

Plain Archive
SMH. Arrogant jerks who think "if I can't have it, no one can." Hopefully this hate does not deter Plain. It would be really unfortunate if the malice and arrogance of a handful of collectors ruined things for the lot of us.

Yeah, as a start up there are always challenges. I sent them a personal note of support and thank you for all of their amazing work to date. Folks could do the same via Facebook, etc if you wish to support them in their ongoing efforts.
