Is there something wrong that people don't like the paper full slip? This is still available even now yet the the other variations sold out in a matter of minutes? :dunno:

I agree, I got the ISTD PET slip and although it was something new at the time, in the cold light of day it's just a piece of transparent coloured plastic and doesn't have the premium feel of their paper slips, and is also quite abrasive on the steelbook when you take it in and out. For me PA is all about their paper and the great designs.

I managed to complete my order at 01:01:07 and scored the paper slip and the 1/4 slip, number #3480.

I can't believe so many of you guys missed out, I'm genuinely gutted for you, but as so many of you have said I echo your thoughts in congratulating P.A on another stunning release. But what I would say is that while the PET full slip is a lovely package and is wonderfully designed, those of you who missed out and got the paper slip instead have still got a stunning release, one that I in fact prefer to the PET slip. I don't mean any offence to anyone who got the PET edition, as I said it is wonderfully designed, but I was always going to go for the paper slip. There's just something about a quality paper slip that makes me love a blu-ray package that much more, there's just so much you can do with paper as a material and so many effects and printing methods that can be added that can really reflect the theme of a given subject, which in full credit to Plain they seem to understand perfectly. I mean just look at it, it has a beautiful illustration that perfectly reflects the insular and driven but ultimately lonely nature of Jessica Chastain's character (which I always thought was the strongest point of the film), its printed on metallic paper that has almost a gunmetal sheen to it, a printed glow in the dark title on the cover and spine, AND Jessica Chastain's face printed on it... TWICE!!:drool::notworthy:

Seriously, why the hell hasn't this sold out yet? Ninja's who missed out, get on it, there is no way you'll regret it, and again its just my personal opinion, but it is in no way inferior to the PET slip in any way, pick it up!

1/4 slip PET was probably the most sort after, since it is the least amount of copies and is the most unique.
I have to say, the paper slip looks like the worst version to me. I have the paper versions of Warrior, ISTD and The Master and for each of them, I personally think they were the best versions, but for ZDT it is definitely the weakest (IMO)

I wonder will PA ever do a V.I.P thing, maybe not
@Bluprint aka Chief Master Sergeant calm me down real quick. #PlainArmy #OneClickGang.

You are PLAIN ROYALTY @PunkNinja no need to give up your throne! I felt the same way once and I ended up getting what missed regardless. To paraphrase Otis Redding, We've been loving this for too long - to stop now! #PlainArmy #OneClickGang

Good thing for that.. Brother @Bluprint is always a voice of reason.. You @Bluprint @AnubisNefer are PA icons here..
Preorder time 9pm EST, wasn't able to sleep until 2am EST due to high adrenaline, woke up at 5am to get to my 14hour shift & now I'm so tired already.. #thethingswedoforthishobby LOL!

It be interesting to know how many that had already joined the GB had also ordered direct online as well. With two GB's secured and those that ordered additional copies as well, no wonder there are hardly any copies available.

I am not a fan of the GBs when the steels are available to order direct from the retailer. you end up paying fees and more shipping.

I and many others would of had a fair chance of securing a copy if they were ALL available for preorder.

Irony much? Considering you bought Drive Mondo that was sourced from a group buy and was offered on the HiDefNinja shop below cost (by accident). We honored the price mistake for you though.

Enjoy the purchase and glad to see you back on the forums Quay! ;)

@rj531

Thank you for your kind words. I'm just a simple Plain Archive/Hidefninja fan here.... ;-)

But thank you.

UPDATE:

I ordered the paper full slip and keepcase edition. I just cannot have a empty spot in my PA collection....

HDN shop is different Andy! :)

Mostly the same people run the shop and group buys.

Kinda feel like you attack one system, you attack it all.

Make sense?

The shop is different because the merchandise is not cost price. It isn't a GB for cost price + fees. The price listed on the shop I did not realise it was actually a mistake. Like I said before if I missed a preorder I don't complain and have accepted paying a little more. You already stated it was a mistake and honoured it which I now realise :) drive mondo is a FS exclusive which I cannot source from uk and GBs are acceptable in that manner.

I have attacked the system because the Steels available are resourcable directly from the retailer. There will be members buying multiple steels on GBs and from the retailer for very obvious reason. There are both sides to this. But as I was not able order on the second this went live and many others, I feel it's only right for me to share my opinion.

For your info, I limited to 1 per edition per GB member, and I will not sell to people who are lisiting on e-bay. If I find that they do, they will never be able to request from me again.

So fine to share your opinion, but you are basing your complaints about the GB on flawed assumptions.

I had John Wick Nova listed on the store for a while at the GB cost.

Unfair to throw me in and say I'm part of the problem, when I'm trying to be part of the solution. I donate my time for this stuff - I don't even ask for tips - ask anyone that's sourced from me before.

Anyway, I know how you and I go with these things, so if you want to continue discussing, it's best we take it to a conversation and not derail the thread further.

Thanks

There is no requirement to take this further, we are both professionals and shared our opinions wherever we agree or disagree. That is why we have forums.
