Have original German version and will have Play version. Some imagination please, plenty more releases deserving of Steelbook releases. Re-releases getting tired-and are a joke for a any hobby that is supposed to involved a 'limited' run of anything (comics, prints, etc etc).

Is there a certain number that makes something limited? All Steelbooks are limited since they aren't infinitely produced.

I wouldn't say there is a certain number but to make it truly limited version, it shouldn't be made so many like 10 000 or something like that.

Good example is Farewell my Concubine which is made only 1000 copies. That's actually the main reason I decided to buy that steelbook, because that is a true collector's version.

Steelbook collecting has now become so popular as with most popular things they become about making profits...big orgs like play and film distributors have found a market and now will milk it till the cows home..FACT!

I collect steelbooks because I like them, not because they are "limited". I don't care about that, it's irrelevant to me. I'm fine with re-releases. Bring em on, so more people can buy them and enjoy them. I already have the original and I will be getting another one in case I damage the one I have on display now. Hoping for inside artwork and no printed fsk-logo.

I think somone should file a lawsuit because they are advertising it as "limited". It aint limited if they are doing a REPRINT.

If somone wants to file I will be onboard.

Chip, not sure a lawsuit or anything similar is necessary. People buy and collect things for all different reasons-everything is in shades of gray, so some people will continue to be bugged by all of these cookie cutter releases, and some just won't care.

It comes down to choices-continue to buy (and decide for what reason you're even buying Steelbooks), and or/evaluate title by title what's important to you, or decide that the hobby has run its course. Each person has to decide on their own. Personally, I've been buying Steelbooks for years, so re-releases don't really interest me, as I was around to purchase the 1st eds of the titles I wanted at cost and see no need to own a re-release unless the art is better/different, and I really love the film. But there are always folks jumping on board with the hobby, who don't value paying 100's for 1 Steel, etc, and others don't care about the collectibility at all. It's all relative, imo.

I'll wait until we get confirmed artwork before I sign off on any one of these in this wave. There's a lot in this wave that I don't have so fingers crossed X for no printed FSK's and clean backs otherwise I'll pass.

Totally agree I think its best to wait till everything is confirmed before ordering.

As for Zombieland Germany re-release folks, I can confirm printed text on back and they even claim the artwork is completely new. So while it does look similar I guess that means that when in hand you will see its a different version compared to the original print. Probably means inside artwork is diff too.

Oh dear, printed backs. The cancer of the steelbook community.

I think if we listen carefully we'll be able to hear the sound of people cancelling their pre-orders.

Shame it isn't a reprint. I was looking forward to having that back art. I might cancel now unless I chose to order another Play.com version and swap backs...
