Official announcement from Star Wars.com:

In addition, Iger confirmed that Rian Johnson will write and direct Star Wars: Episode VIII. The film, which continues the saga after the events of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, is set for release on May 26, 2017 — forty years and a day after the release of Star Wars: A New Hope in 1977. Johnson is widely considered one of cinema’s most gifted young filmmakers, having directed the modern sci-fi classic, Looper, as well as Brick and The Brothers Bloom. He was also behind the camera for three episodes of the critically-acclaimed TV series Breaking Bad, including “Ozymandias,” which series creator Vince Gilligan named as the best installment of the show. Kathleen Kennedy and Ram Bergman, producer of Looper, Don Jon, Brick, and The Brothers Bloom, are on board to produce.

Haha I thought it might've been. :p

That's what I find so funny about him... he says all this crazy stuff, but technically he has a point!

I've watched the show countless times and always find it just as funny as the first time I saw it. Love the podcasts he did with Gervais and Merchant too... those things are hilarious!

Yeah he makes the weirdest sense. A stupid genius I call him

I love gervais/ merchant and pilkington. Infact over the past month I've just watched the 4 gervais stand ups (I see fame live), the office and extras again so it's makes sense to move onto idiot abroad

Ahh the podcasts are epic, I have about 50 hours worth on my iPod and a cd that came with one of his books with about 20 hours on (3 disc with a poster and hours on mp3). Back when they were new and big they got me through my journey to work lol. The animated show is great too but it's just animation to the podcasts. I used to be in tears through the podcasts. Don't think anything has made me laugh so much

:hilarious:

I just watched this twice in a row... hilarious!

Mate, you have to watch his film The Room (where those clips were taken from)... it's genuinely the worst thing I've ever seen, which also makes it one of the funniest things I've ever seen. :p

That was real acting? I thought he was taking the p*ss

His accent is hilarious

Haha yep, it's 100% genuine, which is what makes it so funny. :p

I've never actually managed to watch the entire film to be honest, but I have rewatched certain scenes many times on Youtube.

Here's some of the best/worst ones...
