Supergirl is an action-adventure drama based on the DC Comics character Kara Zor-El, Superman’s (Kal-El) cousin who, after 12 years of keeping her powers a secret on Earth, decides to finally embrace her superhuman abilities and be the hero she was always meant to be. Twelve-year-old Kara escaped the doomed planet Krypton with her parents’ help at the same time as the infant Kal-El. Protected and raised on Earth by her foster family, the Danvers, Kara grew up in the shadow of her foster sister, Alex, and learned to conceal the phenomenal powers she shares with her famous cousin in order to keep her identity a secret. Years later at 24, Kara lives in National City assisting media mogul and fierce taskmaster Cat Grant. She works alongside her friend and IT technician Winn Schott and famous photographer James Olsen, who Grant just hired away from the Daily Planet to serve as her new art director. However, Kara’s days of keeping her talents a secret are over when Hank Henshaw, head of a super-secret agency where her sister also works, enlists her to help them protect the citizens of National City from sinister threats. Though Kara will need to find a way to manage her newfound empowerment with her very human relationships, her heart soars as she takes to the skies as Supergirl to fight crime

The pilot was pretty good, I did feel they tried to cram a bit too much into 1 45 minute episode. One of the few times where I think a feature length pilot would have been better.

Yeah they could have definitely spread it out to an hour and 30 mins with a little more build up and expanded the action scenes we just got seconds of where she was learning.

It seemed they wanted to get her from opening credits to being suited up as quickly as possible. They should have learned from Daredevil, as along as the story is there we can wait a little longer.

Still, the cast were all excellent especially Melissa who is very likeable in the role, the script was well written and the effects were better than average. I look forward to the rest of the season.

I do find it amusing that the studio officially "leaked" it after the trailer was so hated for being too Sex and The City, not often leaks are pristine 1080p transfers lol! Still, it's seems to have worked, the general opinion being it looks like it will be a good series.

Studios leaking episodes of shows is getting more common now days, generates PR n such for a show.

I was hoping we wouldn't see her become Supergirl till towards the last few minutes of the episode. I thought Superman being in it was kinda eh...didn't feel that needed really. I hope as the show progresses he doesn't get mentioned as much

Nah, reaction across the net was mainly positive, it will get at least a full season.

The pilot episode was far from lame. Better pilot than Agents of Shield, Flash and Gotham put together. Writing was noticeably better too, far more sarcastic.
I'm downloading the pilot right now so we will see.As far as the other shows go, i doubt it will be better than the flash or Gotham but beating Agents of shield shouldn't be hard ,That show is horrible.
